I'm tired of hearing about how The Bay is dead cause Bay Fans don't support Bay Artists. Thats not the problem. The problem is is that most of you niggaz is delusional! You can call it hate or you can call it whatever you want, but I'ma tell it like it T-I-IZ regardless.
Just cause you grab a mic and mumble some bullshit into it don't make you an artist. And just cause we from the same chunk of soil don't mean I gotta support your delusional habits. MOST of you so called artists ARE BOO BOO! a.k.a. NOT TALENTED! You never have been... and you never will be.
There... I said it. So go ahead, call me a hater, bombard me with internet threats, I don't give a fuck. The truth is the truth and many of you fools need to be introduced to that fact. Just cause you really, really, hella, hella, wanna be a rap star WILL NOT MAKE IT SO!
I'm not a hater. In fact I'm far from it, and in all actuality the truth of the matter is that most of YOU are. Thats how the wackness spreads. One wack muthafucka slips through the cracks and a million other wack ass haters say to themselves, "Hey I can do better than him!" and thus, the vicious cycle begins.

Good point. My question for you is, what's your take on all the artists that sell in other regions, but not the bay? There's a lot of cats that step out of their soil and make bread...but when they come back nobody is supportin' 'em and tellin' 'em they're wack. In that case, maybe it's not the artist...maybe it's the region. I see a lot of hate out here, and a lot of cats tryin' to bring somebody down before they even raise up.
I understand there's a lot of boo boo shit out there, but there's also a lot of shit that's slept on because cats out here don't want to see somebody bubble if they can't bubble too.

i feel for the people that live and breathe bay area music. its sad. obviously views and or business practices arent working except for a select few. call it what you want, but people can voice opinions and yeah, we are none factors yada yada, but what are you doing again? everyone cant be a chief, obviously right? there is some talented artists, but 99.9% are terrible from any standpoint. i do my job as a supporter.

but reality is the flooded market with the wack shit and artists shitting on the fans and people trying and willing to help because of arrogance and ignorrance equals what everyone is complaining about. take heed to the fans opinions, not potnas and family. alot people need to move out the way and find a new career. im amazed at the garbage right here on this board people feel or say is hot. a few artists arent bad but most are just horrible. yeah, you can be as real as you say, but with no real talent whatsover to equal that talking and delusional thinking your gonna shine is beyong me. but i guess we all got dreams.
I feel like were having conversation in relation to the Presidential election (how every politician has an idea on how to fix something, i.e Healthcare, Social Security, etc)
No one knows the answer. And one or two suggestions on how to "fix" this will probably not amount to anything. I think this thread was a great idea because it gets the word out to the fans who probably do not have any idea of how bad the situation is. And I do agree that we need the fans to buy albums, because thats what keeps it going.
I agree that we should be supporting our local artist more. At the same time these local artists need to put out good music. I can honestly say that most albums that have come out lately are not cutting the mustard. But overall we are going to need a slew of changes for things to come back around. Even then, things will not be the same as in our hay day (90's) because of decrease in album sales.
I guess my point is that KMEL is NOT the reason why things are like this. And thanks to E-40, we had some light for a minute. But it takes more than one person to make it pop. He definitely needs recognition for what he has done his entire career. A lot of families and artists have been able to put food on the table, clothes on backs, and so forth because of that man. More importantly, he puts out quality albums, and is diversified enough with his artist features to increase sales EVERYWHERE (not just the bay area). Remember the Southwest Riderz comp? I loved that double album!

I know everyone has an opinion, so I will just leave it at that and ask you to go and get the Jacka album when it comes out in September. I promise you that its a QUALITY album (Jacka spent 2 years recording it). There are minimal leaks, top notch production, and our business game is good enough to get the word out to the fans everywhere. I think that is all we need to be successful.

what besides wrapping a van, printing some flyers and posters, having a my space, and posting on the siccness do you do to advance your music and this bay movement your behind? Why should i go out and buy your next release?
