What's the difference to a rapper like you (meaning small unit sales) between you putting your own shit on Kazaa after its retail release and someone doing it before. Your sales arn't significant enough for you to really be dick-fucked by music pirating. You arn't missing out on a million dollars or a platinum plaque because of Kazaa.

99% of the cats who download your shit wouldn't buy it in the first place......that's why they don't. Same goes for every other small timer who's complaining about mp3s. It's just another excuse cats are using to place blame for their poor & struggling sales.

I did a search on kazaa and also at packetnews.com for a-wax and came up empty both times, only thing i found on kazaa was some track by JT Money and some other folks i never heard of before. If people dont know who you are weather or not it had been leaked out on the internet, people are not going to be searching for you plain and simple. The internet is like only having short term memory, if your not bringing the heat or people just plain dont know who you are, the memory will fade. what a lot of people don't realize is that since irc, napster, kazaa, winmx, etc, artists have been selling more units than ever, period. this was also the same issue that came up when the cassette came out because it was so easy to dub a tape. plus most people that download music all the time, won't buy a cd. thats just the reality of it. but bottom line you will never be able to stop piracy. software co. get ripped off more than artists when you think about one program costs $300 compared to a $10 cd. so if the software industry hasn't stopped piracy don't expect the riaa to stop piracy. the movie industry too. piracy for them is probably at an all time high, however they continue to break records in a WEEKEND everytime a new flick comes out...

A lot of people will also use downloads to see if they like a artist before wasting $20 on some bullshit. If they do like a artist they usually will go out and buy more of they previous and future albums. True there is a percentage of people who don't buy CDs and instead chose to download, but those are the same people who used to dub all there friends CDs instead of buying, or dub songs off the radio for free. I don't see you saying "fuck the radio, I hope all those that tape my song stereo blows up". Several independent reports have shown 66 -75% of people will go out and buy the album after downloading. If you make quality music you have nothing to lose and everything to gain from allowing people to download your music.
