Roy is better leader than Monta
Roy is a better ball handler
Roy is a better passer(5/2 ast/to ratio vs Monta's 5/4)
Roy is a better defender(although Monta has stepped his D up)
Roy is a proven consistant clutch player(Monta has had clutch moments but he's also had plenty brain dead plays at crucial times)
edit:now that I think about it the only clear advantage I see in Monta is that he's a more explosive scorer because of his quickness and ability to finish around the rim in a way very few can.
These types of answers are always interesting because you get to see how cats quantify certain abilities.
Leader, shmeader ... Monta plays for the worst
organization in NBA. There's only so much you can do there, lol
I'll give Roy the ball handling ... for now. He's just more conservative with the ball which leads to less TOs which is what you'd come back at me with if I argue this point. His actual dribbling prowess isn't THAT great. He's not on Jamaal Crawford, CP3 or Steve Nash's level. He's just really careful with the ball.
I'm not saying you're right or wrong, but how you say Roy's a better passer strictly based on TO ratio is kind of odd. I could just as easily say Monta is a better passer based on him averaging more assists *shrugs*
How is Roy a better defender? What does he do on the defensive end as an individual that stands out? Nothing ...
Roy, given the opportunity has been able to hit some big shots (and some lucky ones), but so has Monta. The attention they get is different because the league has been pushing B-Roy since he's been in the league (just trust me on this one).
Name the brain dead plays Monta has made and I'm sure you can name some that B-Roy has made to go with them...
