They stopped talking about the A's and the wildcard today. Only because they are giving the A's the niche since this series is comming up and is in Oakland. Yesterday they were still comparing the A's and Houston (both wildcard leaders) and picking Houston over the A's.

Nevertheless.....
The Angels have it really tough right now.
We got the A's in Oakland, then off to Seattle (who swept us for 4), the home for Toronto (who swpet us for 3), then Boston at home (who has our number).

This is going to be a deadly two weeks for us. If A's are only 2 games up at the end of the four upcomming series, I am very grateful.

Just because both Seattle and Toronto swept us doesn't mean they're tough. We shouldn't even be losing to teams like those. Luckily there's an off day tomorrow. Scioscia better do whatever it takes to get them back on track. As a fan with high expectations of this squad if they don't come out of this next stretch with at least 8 wins I'ma be pissed.

Anaheim Angels Team ERA: 3.69 [4th best in baseball]

Kansas City Royals Team ERA: 5.56 [29th]
yeah of course the angels are a much better team than the royals...but break out games like that can still carry a lot of confidence no matter who your going against

Oh yeah I forgot Byrd and Colon couldn't handle the Royals earlier this year. I'm just wondering why if you're bringing up how bad the Royals pitching is so bad, howcome the Angels could barely squeak by them twice, once in extra innings.

Oakland won those games because for the same reason they're leading the season series... They've been the better team for the majority of the season.

The Angels have been in 1st place by themselves for like 110 days out of the season, while the A's have been in 1st place by themselves for 0 days.

You're the one that wanted to bring up Royals pitching for no reason... Just makes me wonder if their pitching was THAT bad, why have the A's had an easier time with them than the Angels so far? The A's outscored the Royals 32-5 over the weekend. The Angels didn't do anything like that.

I don't care about standings right now, they don't matter til the end... What does matter now is that the A's have been the better team up until this point and show no signs of slowing down. The Angels had their hot month in June and have since come back down to earth.

Should have made a move before the deadline......

We played the Royals way before the All-Star break. When the Royals actually still cared about winning. The A's rolled over a team that has completely given up since then.

The only thing I don't really understand, is that everyone thinks that the A's will fly through the rest of the season like this. That's far fetched.

Game 1 Tomorrow!!!

They're playing like this because they're a good team. To say they can't keep playing like this is more far fetched than anything.

Two and a half months is not a hot streak.

And just because a team doesn't have a shot at the playoffs doesn't mean they've given up and don't show up to play.

Harden has pitched over 16 innings in 2 games against Anaheim and has given up 1 run... And the only reason they got that run was because they let him advance to second on defensive indifference...

In Lackey's 2 games against the A's this year he's given up 8 runs in 10 innings (he hasn't made it out of the 5th against hte A's this year.)

My Game 1 Prediction: 5-1 A's

I'll be there in section 218

I am very familiar with those stats.
Lackey never makes it out of the 5th with any team, not just the A's.
Harden owns us.

I am calling for a 7-2 upset.
