There were a few out there, maybe like 5 or so in each section around me... Not too many. There will probably be more later in the season when they play in Oakland again. Last year in the last series of the season it was probably 10%-15% Angels fans, maybe more.

The only place an A's/Angels rivaly exists is on the internet. It's weird. I wanted the Angels to win the 2002 World Series and most A's fans felt the same way. I've sat near Angels fans in Oakland and talked to a bunch over the last couple years and they've always been cool.

I guess I'm in the minority as it seems you're either an Oakland or Frisco fan. I support all the Bay teams, but lean more towards the A's and Raiders just because they're more entertaining to watch. The Giants have nothing outside of Bonds and the Niners are rebuilding, but I still follow them regardless just not as much as Oakland
Most of the fans are fans of either one or the other, but there are people who like both... Remember in the 89 series how many people were wearing those split A's/Giants hats?

I'm an A's fan... That's it... I want the Giants, Red Sox and Dodgers to lose whenever possible... The rest of the teams I don't really care what they do if they're not in contention with the A's.

That pretty much sums it for me, except add Angels to that list and take out the Dodgers because they're in the NL and the A's never really play them.

I had to work late and was in meetings for most of the game, but it sounds like it was actually worth watching this time and not over after 1 2/3... Zito's lucky he only gave up 2 runs while allowing 8 baserunners in 6 innings...

That Mickey Mouse crybaby shit that Scioscia keeps pulling with Street is weak as fuck though...

It can be cry baby at times, depending how you look at it. I actually like that fact that our Manager stands up for the team and the players (ex-the incident with the Nationals).

DaVannon's ejection was a little uncalled for though in the 9th.

The incident with the Nationals makes him look even WORSE... Scioscia is the biggest crybaby in baseball already, whining to the umpires every chance he gets... Then he acts like Frank Robinson did something wrong when it's the SAME SHIT SCIOSCIA PULLS EVERY CHANCE HE GETS! Except this time Donnelly had an illegal substance on his glove, and Scioscia cries over the most absurd unnecessary shit.

What is the point of making Street take a bracelet off his GLOVE hand? Really?? That's ridiculous.

It's just what he does. I can't explain all of his decisions. All I can say is that he does it for the good of the team, and I commend that. I wouldn't want anyone else to manage the team. The bracelett, I dont know...maybe Street can use it to scuff the ball.

I rather have a manager who bitches about everything, rather than sit back about bitch about nothing.

For example, the A's over do the concept of patience at the plate. Today was a serious case of it. Working 7 pitch counts, seriously just standing there. It seemed like they had no intention to swing a the pitches. Work the full count, then knowingly get a strike down the middle or walked. It's a nice strategy, but today was just annoying me.

Some teams just do things that other's dont agree with. It's a game, and whoever plays it best wins. Mike doing what he does is part of his game.

Street had to take his bracelett off, and Finley crushed an HR with the first at bat. It more than likely threw Huston off for a bit.

The A's don't go to bat looking to work the count or try to draw the walk, they swing at the pitch they want. If it's the first pitch, they'll swing at it. And most importantly it works... Why swing at something you don't want to hit, or can't hit? You know how ridiculous of a hitter Vlad would be if he didn't swing at garbage constantly?

Everyone said the Angels had the better offense by far this year, but look at the numbers on the season:

Anaheim Angels:
1047 Hits, 100 HR's, 530 Runs, .323 OBP, .407 SLG, .268 AVG, .447 SLG w/RISP, .294 AVG w/RISP

Oakland A's:
1049 Hits, 100 HR's, 557 Runs, .337 OBP, .409 SLG, .267 AVG, .396 SLG w/RISP, .275 AVG w/RISP

Almost all the numbers are exactly the same except for OBP and runs scored... And the Angels are better hitters with RISP... Taking the walk instead of swinging at garbage has the A's scoring more runs because it gets them more guys in scoring position.

People wanna knock the A's for not playing small ball... But they obviously don't need to. The Angels play small ball AND are better hitters than the A's w/RISP but still score less runs.
