Yeah because this is the same team as the ones that lost in the playoffs before.

Eric Byrnes and how he forgot to touch home plate... Oh wait, he's gone.

Miguel Tejada and how he stopped running home... Oh wait, he's gone too.

Jeremy Giambi and how he didn't slide... Oh wait, he's also gone.

Terrence Long and how he sat and watched strike 3 right down the middle... Oh wait, he's gone too.

Mark Mulder and how he can't get a win when it's all on the line... Oh wait, he's gone as well.

Tim Hudson he can't get a win in a big game either... Oh wait, he's gone with the rest of em.

The current A's team is built out of CHAMPIONS. Huston Street pitched under more pressure in college than he has in his MLB career thus far. Barry Zito is the only one of the Big 3 that has always been solid in the playoffs. Danny Haren pitched in 2 games in the World Series and didn't give up a run. All of the Rivercats players are PCL (AAA) Champions.

There's no way to say whether they'll do better or worse until they get there, but there's no reason to compare this team to the teams of previous years.

F'n Bootcheck.

Right now would be a nice time for two of our starting pitchers to come back. Escobar and Washburn.

We also need Erstad and McPherson back.

The A's raosted Lima.

We are going into the series with eachother in a tie.
We will both win tommorow.

A's are in first now, for about another hour or so. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Anaheim 6 ... Tampa 0 ... 4'th Inning

No one is still taking he A's seriously to win the AL West. Even ESPN still talks about them and the wild card race.

STOLE THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH...GOOD SHIT THERE...MANY PROVEN POINTS...AT FIRST I WAS WORRIED WITH THE TRADES OF MULDER AND HUDSON, BUT NOW IT IS MORE CLEAR Y, THEY CANT WIN AFTER THE ALL-STAR BREAK, THEY JUST GET TOO TIRED...IT'S BETTER NOW THAT WE HAVE YOUNG ARMS THAT WANT TO PROVE THEMSELVES.

Sorry but the guys on Baseball Tonight last night were saying they pick the A's to win the West... And just about every Power Rankings website has the A's above the Angels now.

April
A's Pitching: 3.65 ERA
Angels Pitching: 3.83 ERA

Angels Offense: 110 Runs Scored
A's Offense: 89 Runs Scored

May
Angels Pitching: 3.34 ERA
A's Pitching: 5.47 ERA

Angels Offense: 118 Runs Scored
A's Offense: 112 Runs Scored

June
A's Pitching: 2.83 ERA
Angels Pitching: 3.75 ERA

Angels Offense: 150 Runs Scored
A's Offense: 148 Runs Scored

July
A's Pitching: 3.66 ERA
Angels Pitching: 3.98 ERA

A's Offense: 155 Runs Scored
Angels Offense: 102 Runs Scored

August
A's Pitching: 2.35 ERA
Angels Pitching: 3.00 ERA

A's Offense: 47 Runs Scored
Angels Offense: 28 Runs Scored

Season
Angels Pitching: 3.69 ERA
A's Pitching: 3.80 ERA

A's Offense: 551 Runs Scored
Angels Offense: 508 Runs Scored

The only reason the season numbers don't say the A's have better pitching is because in May the A's ERA was inflated by Seth Etherton (6.62 ERA in May,) Tim Harikkala (10.29,) Britt Reames (9.64) & Octavio Dotel (6.75,) who are no longer on the roster, and Kiko Calero who was playing hurt and went on the DL after putting up a May ERA of 81.00.

They have a different crew on Baseball Tonight today than the ones that picked the A's yesterday... Harold Reynolds just said he doesn't think the Angels are going to make the postseason at all.

Since there's an off-day it's probably gonna end up being Byrd vs. Blanton. Blanton only pitched against the Angels once this year, he pitched a complete game and gave up 1 run.
