Yeah because this is the same team as the ones that lost in the playoffs before.
Eric Byrnes and how he forgot to touch home plate... Oh wait, he's gone.
Miguel Tejada and how he stopped running home... Oh wait, he's gone too.
Jeremy Giambi and how he didn't slide... Oh wait, he's also gone.
Terrence Long and how he sat and watched strike 3 right down the middle... Oh wait, he's gone too.
Mark Mulder and how he can't get a win when it's all on the line... Oh wait, he's gone as well.
Tim Hudson he can't get a win in a big game either... Oh wait, he's gone with the rest of em.
The current A's team is built out of CHAMPIONS. Huston Street pitched under more pressure in college than he has in his MLB career thus far. Barry Zito is the only one of the Big 3 that has always been solid in the playoffs. Danny Haren pitched in 2 games in the World Series and didn't give up a run. All of the Rivercats players are PCL (AAA) Champions.
There's no way to say whether they'll do better or worse until they get there, but there's no reason to compare this team to the teams of previous years.
