Ok Wait I'll get back at this as soon as you see my response to what's coming
Truly this shows you don't know what we need, No offense Bro. Randy Johnson isn't as good as you think he is anymore. This isn't any season Prior to 2004.
The Last Time he threw anything 96+MPH was in 2004, His fastballs are more like 92-94 and that's alot of lost velocity, considering his Slider is 90MPH. You need alot of speed differential when you slider is almost as fast as your fastball.
Schmidt has more value than dude, After this season, EVEN mid season, Randy may well indeed just be done.
Not necessarily, the Bullpen is more significant than obtaining a power hitter. If you can rely on Bonds to give you 25+, Durham to repeat Last year and hit 20+, Feliz to his 20+, Aurilia to hit more than 15+, Molina to hit his 15+, the Giants have a stable Line-up with a deep bench. There's no more money for a power hitter, where would he play? Bullpen is more important homie, if you know Giants baseball.
Yes he's serious, Because Bochy is well aware that if you don't have the respect from your players things tend to go sour, look at Felipe Alou that last two years. Lost total respect and control of the team. The only people the Giants would listen to was Omar Vizquel and Mark Sweeney.
I say 50/50, he's either going to get a shot, or get traded as a salary dump before spring training is over.
Don't take this the wrong way, but don't try and contradict everything I say to make yourself sound smart. First off when did I say we needed a power hitter more than bullpen? I said exactly, "Not only do we need a bullpen, but we need another big bat." The only reason I brought that up because that other cat said we needed bullpen, and that I didn't know anything because I wanted Randy Johnson. So I brought it up cuze he was tryin to act like a genius cuze he didn't call it out. And obviously you don't get the picture either. I've always liked Randy Johnson and thought he was a good pitcher, I don't care how old he is. Isn't there any players on any other teams that you like, that you might want on the Giants? It's all a matter of opinion. Just because you don't like the player I name, doesn't mean I don't know shit bout baseball. I know Randy Johnson ain't the player he used to be, I know he's basically been down fallin since he went to the Yankees, but I still think he could contribute somethin to any team in the league. Any player at any time I feel can ressurect their career. You or I don't know who it will be or how it will happen. Look at Frank Thomas for example. Everyone thought that foo was through after the White Sox. He barely got any offers the first time he was out there, and even when the A's got him they only gave him a year. I can't remember how much, but I know for sure under $2(without the escalation clauses). All of a sudden this guy breaks out this year and almost wins MVP. And this guy hasn't done shit for close to 3 years, then from ridin the pine to MVP canidate. Same shit with Grant Hill for the Magic, injured for shit 3-4 years, comes back and is an All-Star. If those guys can do it why not Randy Johnson. Damn I feel like I'm makin a speech and shit. But anyhow comparin Jason Schmidt to Randy Johnson, yeah I would definately want Schmidt way before Johnson. So if by that you are tellin me Randy Johnson wants as much money as Jason Schmidt got, then I guess you are right a lil bit and I don't know shit, hahahaha.

in all fairness, the dodgers' OF defense isn't a whole lot better. Gonzo in LF is below average. Pierre in CF is average. He takes horrible routes to balls a lot of times (like kenny lofton does now) but his speed somewhat makes up for it. and Ethier in RF is no better than average.

LF: Bonds<Gonzo but not by much
CF: Roberts<Pierre but not by much
RF: Winn>Ethier
true but then again many of the Dodgers pitchers are Sinker Ballers which takes pressure of off the OF.

my statement that you qouted was that Zito was a FB pitcher, which means alote of FB to the OFers.

i am not sure if we even have a pitcher that gets a majority FB.

how good is your OF defense, because if i am not mistaken Zito is Fly ball pitcher.

LF Bonds is below average.
how many errors did bonds make last year? he didnt lose many games for giants it was the bullpen. center field and right will be very good to make up for bonds.

schmidt, penny, and wolf are all flyball pitchers (schmidt more than penny and wolf)

bills had a good number of fly ball outs last year too, but with a small sample size (90 innings)

^^i doubt it...

there aren't too many teams that want him, and the ones that do aren't offering fair value in return. i'm 99.9% sure he'll be staying at least until the all star break.

elbert could very possibly be a top of the rotation starter but probably won't see the majors until '08 at the earliest. he should start off at double A this year and move up to triple A towards the end of the year. he could be a september callup this year, but i don't know. he was one of the best prospects in the southern league last year and absolutely dominated Vero beach. i like elbert a lot, but im looking forward to kershaw more.

both are high ceiling 1st round draft picks and left handed. hopefully at least one of them will pan out.

have you heard anything about Greg Miller lately. i heard he will get an invite to spring training to fight for a bullpen job.

yeah i like miller...he could be a nice addition to the bullpen if he can stay healthy, but i don't know if there's room for him unless a trade is made.

saito, broxton, hendrickson, tomko, beimel, dessens, kuo (?), brazoban (eventually?)

beimel and hendrickson will probably both make it...kuo has a small chance to make it, but will most likely be in AAA, and stults will definitely be in AAA.

my guess is we'll at least start off with an 11 man staff with all of our off days in april/may. schmidt, lowe, penny, wolf, billingsley, saito, broxton, beimel, hendrickson, tomko, dessens. i don't think miller makes it unless he REALLY impresses this spring or someone gets hurt. if we could find a taker for dessens, though, and let miller take his spot, id be fine with that.

ide rather unload Tomko and/or Hendrickson, but especially Tomko (i cant explain how nervous/mad i got every time he took the mound last year)

Beimel is to go to Lefty.

but i would like to have Kuo as a Long Relief guy (the guy was averaging what 6 or 7 Ks every 5 innings or so in his late sesaon call up). ERA was ugly because of early season struggles as a lefty specialist. but Kuo has really good stuff.

i know Dessens doesnt have the stuff that Tomko or even Hendrickson has but he is cheaper and more dependable, just get more outs and doesnt give up the house as often.

hendrickson was killer in the bullpen. sure it was a small sample size, but there's really no reason to believe he can't keep it up. 1-0, 0.84 ERA with 12 stikeouts in 10.2 innings as a reliever.

i doubt kuo will find much time in the pen. he's struggled a lot in the pen due to what he says is a lack of warmup time. i doubt we go with three lefties in the pen anyway, so he's the odd man out.

in order of who id like to get rid of: tomko, dessens, kuo

nah not really other than the fact that he will get a shot to make the club in spring training. if he isn't ready this year, i hope we do something about 3B (Nomar move to 3B/Loney play 1B or a Beltre trade) because i'm tired of betemit. i hope the beltre rumors have some credibility because i would really really really like him back in LA. the fact that betemit can't hit lefties for shit and plays below average defense doesn't work with me. he's a career backup. beltre will hit you 20+ HRs, play 155 games, and play excellent defense. if we could get him for penny and laroche, id do it in a heartbeat.
