*Sets his watch to Yao's leg falling off, T-Mac's back going out and Ron Artest beating up the mop boy during the layup line and getting suspended* :knockout:

^^Haha I feel u but thats my pick to win it all and yea its a risky pick, but I am goin out on a limb with that one!! But u do agree if they stay healthy and Artest stays in line they will be hard to beat? They have the 2 best perimeter defenders on their team in Battier & Artest!! Thats nasty!! Got Em!!

Yeah I agree. They were one of the better defensive teams in the league without Artest and without Yao when he was out.

It's pretty much a dice roll with Ron Ron though.

when did I say anything about Oden's career? If you pay attention, it was a Laker fan who made the claim that bynum>oden, not me making a claim about oden doing anything.

^^^LOL on the strength of one solid preseason game against seattle? Oh wait, we must be talking about that month of decent ball he played last year. Or maybe its his immaculate rookie season where he averaged 1.6 pts and 1.7 rebs and shot 29% from the line.
What are you basing your arguement that Bynam ISN'T > than Oden?

the oden and Bynum shouldnt be even answered yet, they both have a lot to prove. As for Gasol being weak as a center of course he is cuz hes not suppose to be one. Lakers got a scary lineup but if Kobe doesnt stay healthy none of these other players matter

I'm not doubting what Oden COULD Be, but I'm not going to say he's better than Bynum until he proves something. Hell...he may turn out to be an all-time great, but I've never been a fan of his overall game, even in college, when he was ''dominating''...lol.

I honestly hope he does turn out to be a good center, and him and Bynum stay on their teams, so we can watch them go at it for years.

I assume this is directed at me.

Ok, besides Lakers fans, I may be the only person on this board who thinks Bynum is a better overall player than Oden. He has great hands, quick feet, and a good shot. Good free throw shooter, good from 10 feet or so, good jump shot, and his defense is pretty good. A good rebounder, too.

Oden is a very good one on one defender under the basket, but he's going to be stretched out, away from the basket, where he won't be able to help and play one on one basketball, which may hurt him. He's always seemed slow-footed to me, and quicker players are going to take serious advantage of that. He can't shoot free throws very well, and has minimal post skills. He's good right under the basket, where he can take one drop step and put it up, but anything more than 5 feet and he's not as accurate. But I also understand he's a rookie, and will develop, and will improve. How much? Who knows, but he's a year younger than Bynum, who came straight out of high school, and so I don't really know that that age difference matters.

I may be wrong...Bynum may turn into Sam Bowie, and Oden into Kareem Abdul-Jabaar, or they may both turn into busts/stars...but only time will tell.

Bynum looked good in the last game, he's gonna tear it up this season. Him playing alongside Pau is gonna be devastating for other teams. As much as I hate the lakers they are gonna be tough to beat

I'll give you that he is a little slower than he should be right now, but I think that's to be expected after missing an entire year. He has already shown marked improvement in his conditioning just from the beginning to the end of the preseason. When he's in shape his agility is seen in very few guys his size in the NBA, Dwight Howard being one of them. His offensive game isn't as polished as Bynum's but Bynum also has 4 years in the league and under the tutelage of arguably the best center of all time. His first couple years in the league he was pretty damn raw all around. Oden's offensive game will come with time, but his defense is rivaled by maybe 2 or 3 centers in the league. And I have no idea where you're getting that Oden isn't a good free throw shooter. He did pretty well at Ohio shooting with his off hand while coping with the broken wrist on his shooting hand. We're not dealing with the Shaqs and Howards of the league with Oden at the line. All that said, he is a much better passer than he gets noted for which creates opportunities for his teammates when the doubles and triples come. Oden is one of those players that impacts the game far more than the numbers show. So is Oden better than Bynum? It's too early and we haven't seen enough of either to tell, but I think Oden is definitely the more physically gifted of the two and has more potential to be a dominant force in the league.
