I hate when people make statements like this one.

SO WHAT IF RAPPERS FABRICATE STORIES!!!! IT'S ENTERTAINMENT!!!!

I wonder what it will take to make some of these real life "gangstas" (whether they rap or not) understand that you don't have to live it to talk about it. Some of us get so caught up in issues of authenticity that we forget to just listen to the music.

Next thing you know, producers are going to need street credentials. I can hear it now... "He can't make a beat like that!! He's a square ass nigga!! I could understand if Pac made that beat but not that nigga..."

Maybe cats should get out of that "gangsta life" if some rapper pretending to have gone through stuff that they went through bothers them.

Square ass topic...
You dont have to care if rappers fabricate stories. I dont really care if rappers fabricate stories. But when these rappers go out of thier way to try to make us believe that everything they rap about is true, its misleading. Most of the time when a rapper is fake it isnt too hard to point them out. And let me just tell yall this is very good to raise issues about any and everything, and most of the time about less ignorant issues than this, but I love to speak so I will. But in the case of Spice 1 he is from the west coast, and he is from the gangsta rap golden days, and he is associated wit my favorite entertainers of all time, also he is very talented and sounds very credible. But there have always just been a little mystery surrounding how he displayed his image to the people and some negative things i've heard about him over the years. I wanna know others opinions, and this in no way is personal. It's rap talk! Pull ya skirt down!

There you have it, shit I mean I know what I have done when somebody tried to question my name, and that shit is straight up hatin, dick ridin. But at the same time, I always was ghetto fabulous, pimped out had shit so its expected. Spice 1 lives in the public eye too so it is what it is. If you think of it, niggas is gone talk regardless so you cant whup on evrybody smoke evrybody that hate on you. Just keep a smile on your face and thats the worst thing you can do to the haters.

The S-P-I has always been one of my favorite rappers. I forget which site, but I heard some of his new shit and it was SLAPPIN!!! (Someone needs to post a link.) But fuck the dumb shit though, he's been reppin EAST BAY for as long as I can remember. I doubt anyone who put in work with him while he was younger is gonna be speaking on the Siccness. (Why would they anyway?) So as far as I'm concerned anything said on here would only be speculation.

Southeast Dago: If someone came on here and vouged for him that he was a straight up rider, put in his work, earned his stripes, etc... what would that do for you?? I mean if you think of it, it's kind of a rediculous thread man. No disrespect, but I don't know what kind of satisfaction it would give you. Would you go back to "your relative Johnny Boy (Cleve Waters) from Hayward" and tell him what someone told you on the internet? That's why we in Amerikkka though...the right to free speech.

Spice lived on Portsmouth avenue and West Tennyson road. He lived like about 3-5 houses off of W. Tennyson road on Portsmouth closer to Lorin Eden elementary. He even shot one of his videos in the DOZ on Arf avenue. I dont know, but even though spice makes sick music it does suck that he don't ever rep H A Y W A R D!

some niggas take rap too damn serious. if its more than music to you, you need to get your life in perspective mane. wether you on the turf or not you buy the cd for entertainment, not so somebody can brag about how real they are or how much work they put in on the soil. you play that shit cause you like the way it sounds or you like the shit they say or whatever. once you start worryin about another man's life and what he do you doin too much.

Thats No. Cali new shit though. The hoggs of the early 90's bay area dont let just anybody in. I'm done though ya'll niggas aint really no Bay Area Rap Talk, niggas lose focus too easy. much luv to everybody who dont kill the messenger, and who just like to chop it up on shit.

Respect, no disrespect to the Bay Area, everybody talkin about me instead of talkin about the issue. Petty or not, I justed asked a question, and it sparks some true emotion so it might be everybody who's petty. P.S. why dont you take a look at the Southern California thread EASTTRIPPIN', where street legends and stories are shared including by the rapper Mitchy Slick. So if you read that, you get an idea how serious people take the streets vs this rap game.

^^ so becuz a FEW folks on the southern cali INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD..seem to care more about shit like that opposed to the FEW people who have voiced there opinion on this thread..that somehow is like an elaborate way to judge one side or another..lmao..seriously..i dont care who shared what u cant make a judgement on somethin as large as a whole side of a state based on some internet threads..plain and simple..if this was a question u posed DIRECTLY to spice 1..in his presence where he gave an answer...than yea maybe..u could make judgements..but in this situation..it just aint validated

I just was watchin all them old school videos from everybody back in the day on this lil site. Goldy, the game is to be sold not told. Too Short like 5 of his old videos, I saw Spice 1's about 5 videos, he was doin East Bay Gangsta in San Quentin. He was like "Kickin the fonky shit for the Oakland posse, kickin the fonky shit for the Richmond posse, kickin the fonky shit for the Frisco posse, kickin the fonky shit for the Hayward posse! That shit was hard, sittin in the back of a drop top 'stang, that nigga looked HELLA young.
