What is the big difference here? Pleading guilty doesn't all of a sudden get your sentence chopped in half, but taking a deal when offered may achieve the desired results.
The man was proclaiming his innocence, and as an alleged law student you should have information/knowledge about precedent cases and why the court probably wouldn't have accepted the guilty plea if he
continued to maintain his innocence. I understand
allocution and
colloquy. I understand what happens when you admit guilt. But we are discussing the
results of a
conviction. So what is the big difference here?
