posted this in another thread and think it goes well here...

dont know if this is necessarily good for the giants i think short stop was the bigger issue that needed addressing especially if we were shopping sanchez out there. cabrera is pretty good hitting in kc's ball park but just look at how hard it is to hit in sf it is a major adjustment. the wind knocks many homerun balls down and right into outfielders gloves hopefully he makes adjustment because he obviously has the tools to do some damage but we shall see

short stop is the real area the giants need to address it was the tell tale problem last year once we put orlando cabrera in that spot it was all over but the crying about missing the playoffs. ive seen statues that could cover more ground than that guy and he really didnt hit for crap either

we missed the playoffs because we didnt have our catcher, we didnt have freddy sanchez, last season we played top defense and pitched lights out, when that happens, no errors, you win helluvalot more games, im tired of depending on pitching tho... I wish we could be like The Cards or Texas where we would be built for huge comebacks, down 9 runs? no problem.. let me hit some homeruns and doubles and triples in the 8th and 9th innnings

so the Giants give up Jonathan Sanchez and prospect Ryan Verdugo for Melky Cabrera? why though? we need a SS not a fucking OF ...

I don't know what Sabean is doing, but he needs to address the position that the Giants really need to fill...

whats wrong with gettin a good outfielder for a guy who was gonna walk anyway??? Sanchez would have gotten 8-9 mill in arbitration... that would have been a lot of money going to the 2 guys fightin for the 5th spot in the rotation...

I wouldn't be so sure about this meaning no Beltran. What this means IMO is no Torres or Ross. If Melky can do similar to what he did last year then this was a good trade. Sanchez was getting too expensive and we need that money for Timmy, Cain and an improved offense.

J sanchez was contract relief...... Melky only hit .305 with 20 sb 18 hr's and scored 102 runs on a sorry ass team last year....... We dont need to resign torres now and cody ross can take his shit and get too....

Now we need a ss and beltran and we are on our way!

Beltran in left melky in cf and sheirholtz in rf = SOLID!
