I like Sean Penn too. It's too bad he is not in Frost/Nixon though lol. Maybe you got him confused with Michael Sheen some how?

Sean Penn's last movie out was Milk which is about the first gay (well openly atleast) person to hold an public elected postion in the US and his murder by a former city supervisor.

Good movie too.

just saw it. thought it was dope as fuck. theres just a lot of keanu reeves haters out there. he actually played the part perfectly. the movie was the shit.

didnt think this movie would be good, i just wanted to check out the new imax in fairfield and see the x-men origins trailer, but i saw the imax and they didnt even show the trailer....but the movie was alllright, wasnt the best, but didnt expect much of it.

I thought the original The Day the Earth Stood Still was a little overrated. It reminded me of a not so great Twilight Zone episode.

I forgot, how did they stop the robot from destroying earth in the old one?

They had Point Break at Bestbuy for 5 bucks the other day but they were all sold out, I was pissed. Ya after I saw a few previews for The Day the Earth Stood Still I thought it looked pretty weak, I saw the PUNISHER WARZONE yesterday instead an that shit was DOPE! Hella gun gore.

this new one is coo', the ending sucked ass though. Some of yall is crazy for saying Keanu Reeves wasnt in any good movies Constantine was pretty dope

yeah.. the ending coulda been a lot better.

Keanu Reeves is not a bad actor. However, I don't think his range of acting is that vast. But he chooses his roles wisely and stays in his comfort zone.

True...I don't think the ending could have been worse...

His comfort zone = extremely weak acting. Every role I've seen him in (-point blank) requires him to be a shitty actor. And he does a very good job at that.

Movie had potential and could have been sick, had it not sucked ass.

the movie itself was to justify the plot which was that if we humans continue the path we are on we will destroy ourselves. we humans already know that and nothing is done to change it. the aliens came in the movie and the first thing we did was shoot when he just reached out his hand for peace. that would be the real scenario if an alien came to earth we would probably shoot them and try to kill them because we would see them as a threat to us because violence is in our nature. but we would be to stupid to think about the fact that we have no chance to win a fight against them because if they have the technology to travel interstellar distances and to bend space time why wouldnt they have advance weapons (like they did in the movie, the single robot itself ) that could knock us out in one blow.

to sum things up tho like i said the movie was in my opinion an attempt to wake up the average person and to try to change the way we live in order for us humans to survive. because if we dont the next war with nuclear and neutron bombs could totally wipe out our atmosphere and just fuck us all up.
