If you haven't received your stimulus rebate check by now, several things may be holding up your money.
If you're going by the social security schedule, then checking your bank account, and the money just isn't showing up, and you don't understand why. The problem could be this.
While you're expecting your payment to be direct deposited, its not coming that way.
A lot of the confusion, can be about this.
If you used sites like Turbo Tax or Tax Cut, and chose to have your tax preparation fees deducted from your return, you'll be getting a paper stimulus check, even if you chose direct deposit for your return.
So again, unless you paid for your prep fees with a credit or debit card and had your entire return direct deposited, you'll be getting a paper check. And those will start being mailed out Friday, May 16.
You're also going to get a paper check if you got a refund anticipation loan from a company like H&R Block. Or, if you asked the IRS to deposit your tax return into more than one bank account.
If you fall into any of these categories be patient, your check will be arriving in the mail in the coming weeks, and not by direct deposit.
Another thing to keep in mind, if you filed you tax return close to or on April 15th, the deadline, it may not have been processed right away, and you have to get your tax return before you get your stimulus payment, so that can also set you back a few weeks.
