Real breath right there. I made a comeback of a lifetime in my opinion. I got signed back to a major record label, and even though it didn't work out, I made some money out the deal. I got another gold record for my appearance on Bash's album. I had a song on the radio in heavy rotation in about 15 different markets. I did about 5 real big radio station shows, the real kind like I used to do back in 92-93. Me, B-12 and Daric B started Southwest Magazine and put out 3 issues. We didn't make any money, but defenitely layed some foundation for next year.
2004 was a pretty good year, could have been way bigger if the Universal deal would have gone better. I think 2005 is gonna flush out alot of the cats that where clogging up the toilet of Bay Area rap. Hopefully, I'll be able to hang on and keep putting out quality music. So far, I have been getting great feedback on my latest release, even lines like "My best album ever", so that will definetly keep my spirits up as I continue to do my thang. Good luck to everybody.....

hmmm..

I didn't do much of shit. Got hated on... ummm... slandered.... well i guess that's pretty much everyone though eh...

honestly... my biggest thing of 2K4 was probably Summer Jam in Merced... brought lots of folks together... probably the biggest show damn near ever in Merced. Learned about what I will and won't do if I do another show. It gave Merced and surrounding areas what was unbeknownst to them at the time, the last opportunity to see Mac Dre perform. Big props and special thanx to Quinn and Chuck for comin out and supportin.... and treating it as a business (they were the only cats from outside the area to have a mic check) It was a wonderful thing overall. However people in general are idiots too... when you have a show .. it's amazing that almost everyone there is convinced they're somebody. Like they're top shelf... and they just coat tailed in with one of the performers lol. Other shouts on the show included Black C and The Right Way Camp... I-Rocc, R-Beta, Macnificent, Hollow Tip, M-Dash and crew. Some cats didn't perform for some reason or another.. but were promoted and a couple were promoted and got a telly room and didn't get to perform but didn't thank a muthafucka for the opportunity either way. I'll be more selective next time around because without me doing a show lending credibility and promo to um... who the fuck are they out this way... honestly.

Killa Valley still made moves.... releasing and re-releasing 8 projects .... fuck talkin bout it.. letz make shit happen.

in 2k5 I look to bubble for realz... I'm doin' home loans now...
Will still dabble in music... but only if the situation is right...

I wanna reach out to my folks that I haven't spoke to in a while ... lay some petty beefs to rest...

good luck to everyone in 2K5....

B-12, Dutch, Syko... I see ya! keep it movin...

I would be lying if I said I wasn't dissapointed that my compilation C-4 Presents DIRT HU$TLIN: TRYNA MAKE SOMETHIN OUTTA NOTHIN still isn't out yet, most people on this boards and a lot more outside of it know that I have been working on this for a long time now, but it will be out early '05, as God as my witness, it will be out. And it is worth it, I am not lying or biased when I say it's one of the best compilations the Bay has seen yet. It's more than a compilation, it has really turned in to my album without me rapping on it, you all will know that when you hear it, it's way more personaly than a compilation, it's a journey with me and the artists on there. Much luv to everybody that has helped or done something involved withthis project.

Aside from that I think that I and the people around me did accomplish alot though. As we continued to finish up the album, we started the heavy promotion of it, and thanks to stations that have shown us love and received us well, we have received airplay of at least 5 songs from the album on at least 6 different stations including KMEL, much luv to Big Von and Scotty Fox for showing me and mine so much luv this year, I feel like we built a good business relationship. We also did live interviews on 3 stations with many more to come.

I also continued to make moves with Xplosive Magazine, as the magazine and I continued to grow in the industry, we grew together. We went to several events, the Magic Convention, Summer Jam, lots of shows and release parties, people know you can catch Xplosive in the streets. I did interviews this year for the magazine with some of the biggest artists in the industry, including Snoop Dogg, Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz, Jadakiss, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Noel G., Baby Bash, and HELLA others. Also got to meet a lot of my favorite artists and network with them.

I also continued to grow as a graphic designer doing layouts on more than 10 albums and mixtapes as well as doing the complete layouts for Xplosive Magazine. Also helped to put together several shows.

Personally I also accomplished a great deal having several surgeries on my eyes. Some of you may know I used to wear glasses, no more. That was a wonderful thing for me, after all these years to take care of that.

Overall it was a very busy year for me and mine, and the next one only looks like it's gonna be even more. I just hope to finally get this album out, trust me it is well worth the wait, I know I keep saying that, but I will let it speak for itself, it's my baby, I have watched it grow from nothing. And other than that I want to just continue to grow in the industry, to do more, keep networking, meeting people and doing whatever I can do. Plus whatever I can do to make money, get my life on the best track that it can be on. Much luv and respect and good luck to everybody in the year that lies ahead.

E&K Music Group had a interesting year. We had some ups and some downs but overall, it was another year to look back at and learn from. I'm gonna break my year into simple Pro's and Cons:

PROS:
-We dropped Hustle Music Vol. 1 in Feb.04, and sold almost all of our units in the first month with lil to no promo.
-We did some instores with The Done Deal fam (San Quinn and Ya Boy), Messy Marv and Louie Loco, Black-C, M-Dash, and Sean T and the Get Gone Fam and others.
- We recieved lots of college, internet and mainstream Radio play in multiple states at the same time, most notably at KMEL courtesy of Big Von and Scotty Fox on the "On The Block " show (Which was a God Send) Who gives a fuck that it didn't generate records sells, it was a good start at gittin us back in the prime time.
-We received good reviews on Hustle Music from magazines and online music sites
-Did some production for C-Bo on the WCM Gang album.
-Used the money we made back to finish the in house recording lab.
-I personally beat a case I had to fight for a full year.

Cons:
-We started Promoting the album about 3 months too late.
-Being that I had just had my son, I should've waited a few months before I put out the album so I could get accustomed to new sleeping habits. I'm still tired from trying to run day today operations, promotions and distributions, find time for producing, and working the 9 to 5 etc...
-Since I spent the money we made back on the album on equipment, I had to stop all promotions and decided not to repress the album so we lost money in the second part of the year.
-We didn't do much club promotions or networking and didn't do any shows for the entire year, and had to back out of some commitments for personal reasons (we apologize to any one we fell through on).
-Lost my job (WHich in the long run could be a blessing).
-Lastly, I can say because of all of the personal distractions and limited time, we didn't give 110% on any level that it woulkd take to make a project successful.

At the end of the day, I feel like we have some positives and negatives to learn from. The biggest issue is we need to do our homework and put a good plan together and follow through. I also learned my limits as far as putting energy towards too much at one time. We set out to do more than we did, but did not complete any of our tasks, but we gave it a shot so I'm at peace with that. We did our own disty and made connections that will help us on the next go around. We also got such a good response from the project in the beginning, I know we would have pushed good numbers had we went harder. Alot of stores were mad at us because we could not fulfill reorders they needed since we did not repress and hopefully that won't hurt us when we drop the new album. I personally feel that cats don't look at us a factors so I'm out to prove something this year. I won't say what we plan on doing this time, instead I'm bent on going out and doing the things we have planned and come out on top. Once we have some concrete things we will post once we are moving on them..

God bless and let's make 2005 a real T.B.I.B year for real. Alot of cats be on here jokin about that shit and I see it as disrespectful to the cats that's out there in the trenches tryna rebuild the image of our region. Shit in the last year, the Bay has at least got the wheels in motions again. Shit doesn't happen overnight, and it will take more than a year and one radio station to regain the power and position we need to get on. Big ups to Scotty Fox and Big Von, Clarke at KPOO, SLy and 95 Live and others for supporting the struggle. I say let's keep up the good work, and continue to keep it real with each other and ourselves. Peace

2004; well lemme start by sayin it was a disappointin year, yet good year at the same time. startin wit some negatives, the Mobbed Out group E.P. (which has been done for awhile) still looks like its no where near droppin, and i've basically been seein no progress happenin with the Mobbed Out situation, just beginnin to look like i'm wastin my time & need to move on.
but on a positive note i joined up with a new producer (J.North), & formed a whole new label (N.E.W. Records), which i am helpin run. we got our studio set-up finally (although it took most of the summer), & we're lookin forward to knockin out alotta upcomin projects. i've also had the chance to network with alotta new people, from different areas as well.

2005; well my goals for 2005 are to drop this Mobbed Out - "Tha Jackmove" mixtape this January, wrap up this Young-G & Mone - "Money & Mayhem" album before Summer, promote N.E.W. Records and get my whole camp out there, continue to network, collab, and write, & to come to a final decision involving my group (Mobbed Out) situation and what we're gonna do with that.

This is a well worded question. I think that we (The Frontline) acomplised about 1/3 of the shit we wanted to, but shit we are still makin moves. First we completed our 1st album and putting out an album that you are fully proud of is an acomplishment in itself. We set out to get National/International Dist. and we were able to acomplish that with the help of those who supported the album (thank you for the support). Met some good people in the game and weeded out some that wern't...found out who really had our backs and who didn't, shit I am probally most thankful for that acomplishment. Pissed off some people and gained the respect of others and basically didn't let the shady shit in the music business take me under. I watched a few new artist from the Bay make a real impact in the game and watched the O.G'z hold it down as well. All in all I was cool with this year and ready to do a hell of alot more in 2005...didn't do everything I set out to do, but really who does?
