^^ I lost my grandmother the year before last. But the fact remains, faith saves more lives than it destroys (and i am not talking about any specific faith--i am talking about faith IN GENERAL). All Atheism ever did was make a bunch of sad, sappy people who are out for the jugular of faith-minded people.

Sure....you can go your whole life, smoking weed and crack, and there really might NOT be an afterlife. But faith is not about a suckers bet and its not about being brainwashed. Its about a lifestyle that is noble and seeks to connect with other people and cultures. On the other hand, saying Atheism's main tenet is anything BUT proving religion wrong is naive, at best.

You obviously have NO idea what mainstream Islam is about. In fact...you act like the Arab world has a bigger population of Muslims than India or Southeast Asia (it doesn't), which were most likely left out of all the so-called "polls" you are referencing.
Actually, according to global strategy thinktanks and interviews with experts the Indian and SouthEast asian Muslims see the Palestine/Israel situation as a great cause and part of international jihad. Those who use the QuRan to justify killing are a minority, but they are a substantial minority. In countries such as Pakistan, radical elements occupy up to 40 percent of the seats in the national congress. The Anti-Israel view is extremely widespread in the arab world, even among the moderate.

Do the math: The Arab world has less than 300 million....there are over a billion Muslims worldwide. And all this anti-Israel talk is nothing more than a tool of Anti-Muslims to bash the religion.
All this anti-Israel talk comes directly from the mouths of Muslims worldwide...those like the author of American Muslim use an adapted, new-world peace hippie way of viewing the religion. The Xtian Bible (Old Testament) contains records of "God" and "God's people" killing, but the real basis of Xtianity are the words of jesus, which stress love and non-violence. If you listen to the views of the radical and many of the moderate Arabs , you will hear ghost stories about Jewish massacres, claims that Jews are descended from pigs and apes, and other such banter. Even among people like Fareed Zakaria, Bernard Lewis, et al. there is a consensus of anti-Semitism in Arab regions and Arab-influenced countries. If you cannot see this, tadou, you are looking at the situation in theory and not in experience or knowledge.

But see 206 you're applying your Western logic to this topic. Intellectualite American and European Jews and others extrapolate Israel from Jewhood; in the Arab states this is not the case. Arabic people do not make the considerations of definition that we espouse. In the minds of most modern day Arabs, Israel = Jew, and there is little or no room for specificity or further clarity. I am not questioning or exploring the whether the state of Israel and Jews are inscrutably linked; what is at issue is what is in the mind of the average Muslim worldwide.

I said their main tenet, friend, not only reason for being.

And what is in the AVERAGE mind, no matter what 40% of the 1% of Muslims involved in politics say, is that Christians, Jews and Muslims are all brothers, from the same descendent, Abraham (pbuh).

That is not theory, friend, that is Quran...knowledge. If you want to keep believing your anti-Semitic, anti-Arab rhetoric and journalistic smatterings, then you go right ahead.

What's liberal about Kerry?

Don't be fooled, Korporate Kerry is no different than the rest. Just look at him, over his 20 years in the Senate, he has proven he is a safe, reliable defender of big-business interests who will seek to maximize corporate profits at the expense of workers and the environment. In fact, John Kerry is the richest man in Congress, worth over $550 million!! While he now poses as an opponent of "special interests," he has taken millions from Corporate America.

He voted for the Patriot Act, the war in Iraq, supports the Afghan war, the “war on terrorism.” He has already stated he will continue the war in Iraq, possibly sending more troops. He opposes a single-payer healthcare system, supporter of "free-trade" deals such as NAFTA, the WTO, PNTR with China, and fast-track trade negotiation authority.

Good point. Thats the reason we have all this anti-Arab/muslim shit going on right now...most Americans are ignorant to the fact that Southeast Asians are more likely to be Muslim than Arabs. The country with the highest concentration of Muslims in the world is Indonesia.

I could care less about big business, corporate profits, or corporate American

Whats wrong with the Afghan war??? who didn't vote for that

They voted for the war in Iraq because they believed the fucked up CIA Intelligence that everyone else believed.

He wont pull out of Iraq (which I beleive is a good idea) but he will bring more UN troops and have other countires help pay for the war.

^^^You act like everyone in the world was fooled by "false CIA information" that we all heard. Remember, there was a HUGE anti-war movement since the shit started. MILLIONS of peoeple around the world were protesting...remember? We all knew it was bullshit from the start, we were smart enough to know the Bush Admin was full of shit. It just goes to show what a hypocrite Kerry is.

You don't care about korporate amerika, big business etc? You think its right that a man, such as Kerry, should represent the people of amerika when he himself is influenced by big business?!? He doesn't care about you or the rest of the working class. He'll take orders from the big corporations just like bush.

Liberal...lol.

^^ Its a known fact. Based on his voting record, Kerry is the *MOST* liberal senator in washington right now. Just because he doesnt mention Marx, Engels, Stalin, or Lenin in every other sentence, doesnt make him not liberal.

"Liberal voting record"

As in, he sided with the Democrats 100 percent of the time. Is there any proof he brought any truly progressive issues to the fore or supported vehemently any truly "liberal" or "left-wing" stances? He is opposed to a single-rate tax, opposed to pulling out of Nafta, opposed to gay marriage, opposed to marijuana legalization, etc.

If you think he is a "big flaming liberal", your "center" is more right than anything. Fox News and others have the American people convinced that "right" is "center", George Bush is "middle of the road", and O'Reilly is "independent". He is about as liberal as the "liberal media", or the "liberal senator Lieberman".

Funny thing: We never hear about Gee Dubya's conservatism...his HORRIBLE environmental record, his beyond obvious ties with big business. Why should we? Conservative is right, and right is middle, and left is wrong. God bless the FNC...and Republicans like tha rippa who call themselves "independent" or "middle" so they won't be written off as simple party supporters.

How you gonna protest Bush showing up to the 40 year anniversary of MLK? Nevermind who is president, that is pure HATE and disrespect for the OFFICE of president.....that is NOT real protesting, that is a witch hunt.
