You have never, not 1 time sold a verse to anyone. Just like you have never sold a T shirt. Your scheme is wack as fuck, and failure looms as your only future. Stop lying to the people.

I hate for this to be my first post, but it is what it is.
One last thing breh...you make up a dummy profile to get at me...man up and come with your real screen name...some of you niggas is to scary.

some people sense of business is all fucked up. if i can make more money off of my own music than i could off of charging for studio time ($20/hour) than why would i waste my time trying to record someone a mixtape track for free? this makes no sense to me but you'd be surprised how many no name rappers hit me with this proposition and get mad that i never answer their phone calls. if im cool with you i dont mind helping you with studio time or anything as long as you pay me for my time. but if youre not breaking bread than get the fuck outta here. thats for the no names though. if you already paid your dues i'll be putting in work just to get a credit on your album, build a working relationship and to make a name for myself. that credit to me is worth more than $20/hour to me in long haul same as my music.

the point is there is no such thing as something for nothing when it comes to business (in life too). its all about building relationships on a good foundation based on give and take.

My approach to music is totally different and basically a totally different genre than 99.998% of the dudes on the siccness. I hear you Tay on what you're saying but I give my cd away for free because I feel like that was an answer to prayer. My music is an evangelical tool to hopefully lead people to a relationship with Christ, so the money doesn't matter to me.

On the real... the problem with payed verses is, that just like every other facet of Hip-Hop, the market is waaaay too glutted. See... I think the problem is that Cats are too loose with game these days. I don't know if it's because niggaz is on some guilt trip about being labeled haters or what, but all game isn't FOR everybody. Entertainment is a business. There are some business strategies that you need to be kept under your hat. If you have a good business idea, keep it to yourself for awhile. Seriously, you'd be doing the rap game a favor, cause a lot of the people doing the glutting would never have even attempted to release the junk they have, or even have the confidence to spend their hard earned money on a fool's dream if they weren't under the misguided perception that this is a "paint by by the numbers" business.

Loose lips about solid game only empowers the feeble minded and untalented into believing that they too can achieve greatness. Don't get it twisted, you're not a hater cause you keep good game to yourself. In reality the glutters are the true haters... they hear or read somewhere the story of someone (who from nothing truly took the time and effort to build a career in this game) and say to themselves, "Damn! If THAT nigga could do it, then SURELY I can!". Then proceed to emulate the exact process (that at one time actually was unique and could actually generate sales) to the LETTER.

The morals of the story: Never help to create your own competition, never give away free what you yourself have worked your ass off to achieve or accomplish, and your trade business secrets and practices should be like your Momma's sex life... somethin' you just don't talk about...

Now to show you that I'm not a hater just trolling the siccness lookin' for shit to talk. I'll answer the question in the spirit it was asked... not only that, I'll even break my own rule of keeping good game to myself...

So how much would I pay an established artist for a verse? Not a fuckin' dime. But hey thats just me. I tell you what I WOULD pay a truly established artist to do... and that would be to put one of MY verses on HIS album. See, if you really want to get some exposure, THAT is what you would REALLY want spend your hard earned money on. Instead of paying a Cat 10 racks to spit a couple of verses on YOUR album and praying that those few lines are gonna be fire enough to get you enough exposure to help you sell some units to HIS fan base, go directly to the well to get your water and you'll get an entire album worth of verses that he undoubtedly believes are his BEST material. His fans will wonder "who is this guy that my favorite rapper thinks enough of, to put on his OWN album?". If your shit is genuinely tight, I GUARANTEE you that his fans will be more likely remember to look for you, or even know of you, this way.... than the other way around.

And so I'll leave you all the way I found you with one final thought....They call it the "Entertainment BUSINESS" for a REASON. Try taking some time to step YOUR business game up. And oh yeah... stop spendin' so much time fakin' it, and more time makin' it...

i feel like a lot of dudes pay rappers for their respect, not for their verse

i don't really feel like i need anyones respect let alone their raps
You shouldn't. I, personally, am a fan of your work... Mostly due to your originality, skill, and overall mindset. Although you're not as established as many of the rappers most would die to fuck wit, you're one of the few I'd work with for free... Although as you know, I am not a rapper, but a producer...

PS... By the way... The Subsidiary deal fell through. I'll be getting at you again. Keep your ears open...

Some of the prices artists are asking in here is a fuckin joke..

Who in their right mind would buy a verse for more than 200$ when more well known international artists charge that or even less AND they are more developed as artists, not only in fame but also sound quality, style, originality, etc etc

Don't get me wrong, music is a buisness but some of you are on some grinch shit..

back in the days, if you had a Black C feature...an 11/5 feature...a 4tay feat etc...it means you had to get in the labb and actually vibe with the cat to collaborate on a song.

technology has put music in a fucked up position, with laptops and hotel room studios, bootleggin etc...it used to be hard to put out an album, you had to SPEND! now everyone and they mama got a label, everyones a CEO, everyone has a project "comin soon" and everyone wants to be "in the rap game"

meanwhile, of the 1000 cds they pressed, they sold 147, gave away over half to bitches on broadway, and the rest are in a moldy box in the trunk.... made zero profit, yet they are now "making boss moves" and "getting that rap money" and networking....which equals to begging known rappers to rap for free for "promo" or drugs or whatever...

Just because ya face is in the inside of a jewel case, it doesnt mean your shining, or even worth a shit.

and the last time i checked the market, quinn was even doing verses for like 4-500, at his peak i know he was getting fat racks for verses, 1500-3k.

I have a good friend who is a rapper know, has an entire encyclopedia of features on his album, but he's not really a rapper...he just makes words rhyme. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

QA is music nowadays is non existent damn near.
