Make good music, period.

And make human sacrifices out of the wack ass rappers that are clogging everything up like a fat man's arteries.
very much true D rose...

but it isnt all bay area putting out dumb music.... we still gotta hear plies and rick ross... we still gotta hear fat joe... i mean come on if them niggas aint wack. i dont know what wack is... quinn and mess better than most of the mainstream... Clyde hella has the look... ya boy has better lyrical content than alot of mainstream artist but we arent getting air play and not making mainstream money.

i know yall remember when the mission rock was crackin hard i would hear the team and alot of bay area artist then they fired backside... and all that went away.

The bay needs it's own major label building like capitol records in LA and shit in Atlanta.
you really think thats why we aren't getting on? i think not because 3xcrazy and the delinquents Richie rich and many more were getting major spins on the radio out here and even BET rap city. our artist need to stand up and come together and be a strong force. and demand that we get what we deserve out of the music industry and the mainstream.

Naw it's not the reason why we're not getting on. But it wouldn't definitely help bring the bay area up as a region.

sure they play a ton of tpain n stuff, but when i got to parties n clubs, bitches LOVE that shit, so who am i to tell them to stop... if bitches are happy wit the music, then we can all get laid... lol

i say everyone quit crying and lets build... jacka got a big hit record on the radio right now... if he doesnt sell at least 10,000 on this next album, you will see where the REAL problem is... people will mouth support, but wont follow it up with their wallets.

People need to start making hit records that the whole country want to hear. artist outside the bay area are selling more units in the bay then bay artist are selling overall. So why would a major want to sign artist here when there not outselling records in there own back yard?
Make hit records that the whole country wants to hear...Why, so everybody in the Bay starts hatin' on it and act like its ripped off from Mac Dre???

Bay Area PEOPLE (not just artists) need to learn how to handle their business correctly & with some class, and keep that hood/unprofessional shit at home.

music is in a state of emergency, hip-hop..rap..whatever you want to call it. the bay area is in a SERIOUS state of emergency...who's going to do something about it? step up..make quality music..promote, let your voice be heard. music is a way to express yourself..we as people love to hear someone express themselves in a manner that appeals to us. this society (especially mainstream) is geared on "money-cars-clothes-bitches etc. etc. etc." if you can make something that appeals to the people, you will be successful. if you have an appearance that can appeal to the people, market and promote yourself in the same manner.. you will be successful...

who says someone in the bay can't be original and make it mainstream? theres no blueprint right? look at most of the successful individuals in hip-hop/rap today...they broke from the blueprint and did they own thang right? seems like everyone out here in the bay area is sticking to the blueprint...hyphy, hyphy, hyphy...

rappers talk like they got so much money well if thats the case why dont you have big talented producers make you a track and see how a real producer works and get you a powerfull hook????
yeah that too, I'm not gonna say its impossible to make a hit w/o a major producer or feature ... but if you can afford it, why not make that lucrative investment?

mainstream money needs a mainstream budget.

it takes money to make money. technology allows anyone with a $1000 dollars to press up an album and call it a product. nickel and dime street corner hustlers cant compete with real business. whats happening in the bay is everyone thinks they got what it takes. copy-cat artists, we lead any region by far. this hyphy movement? it was a gimmick from day one. E-40 took the young fresh dudes vibe and capitalized light weight. by bay standards, hes the man. industry-wise, probably mediocore at best. thats based on sales and my opinion. but do you think at 40+ e-40 is on the turf dancing? is he going dum? i highly doubt it. the so-called independent game is pretty much over unless you got a team with a real budget. skill alone isnt the key. look at all the talent out here. some have been doing this for years and are doing the same thing if not worse than when they first started. the bay isnt mentally prepared for the big stage. artists are liabilities off top. you could burn cds and post em on the internet for your potnas to hear your hood or block on a track. not press something and contribute to the demise of this oversaturated garbage market. music content is way below average. aint nothing special about being broke and stuck in the hood your whole life. some think thats what makes them real. i think its unfortunate. what needs to happen is less artists and more support. make singles to open eyes. shop demos to real labels with the money and a team to make something happen. if you think your that tight put $100,000 where your mouth is. content, content, content. change is needed.

in some way your wrong...... about the street hustler not being able to compete with the mainstream industry artist.... tell me why people were doing the soulja boy way before it broke into the mainstream the dance is about 2 years old....how about the lil dude that sings red monkey jeans he isnt even signed yet broke onto BET. you say its to many rappers thats not the case its allways going to be alot of something that makes money but it will always be a 10% rule and the 10% is the percent making the money.... i dont think it should be less rappers it should be more support from the rappers... not hatin on each other... acting hollywood like most bay artist do. they act like they are mainstream already and they really arent yet.
the wolfpack proved that u dont need 100,000 to be heard... you just need a hot song and some support... you dont need a super producer you dont need diddy jay z on the hook...

theres a chance but you have to be a hit in your region.

soulja boy got picked up by a major i believe which allowed the spins and overall success. where is he now? he made a hit and im not hating on that. but honestly he was a one hit wonder i feel. wolf pack is on some other shit which allows him to be succesful. change. in the bay show me an artist with a lightweight buzz the last couple of years like a mista fab. no proven sales. yeah, there is that one guy that comes from nowhere with no money but thats because he got picked up and pushed outthere. its not where you from its where you at. nowadays rappers are picking off the marks outhere pretending to be gutter and the rest that comes with the struggle but lived there whole life without the struggles. that makes you who you are. what you been through. not what you say. alot of cats make it sound good but havent been through shit. its hollow just like the bay scene. just like bay artists, just like bay music. my opinion.
