What a joke. Is this what our future society will start to look like?

I can't stand seeing quotes from these 20 year olds asking for this raise, saying "We can't survive on $8.25/hr!!" SMH, dude you probably live with your parents collecting welfare and probably use your checks on whatever you 90 babies use it on.

Fuck off

its not going to happen. the chain of events after they got their raise would be nuts. everybody would be like f this, I need a 6 dollar raise too. Then everything would just get way more expensive to compensate. Just use the EBT card and section 8 to supplement the shitty income and they straight.

Sure, go ahead and raise the wages at fast food to $15. And while you're at it, raise the prices of your meals to $10 to compensate and see how many people go there. At that price, why would I go to McDonald's and pay $10 for a Big Mac meal when I can go to Red Robin and get a meal for the same price plus endless fries?

Yes, yes, good goys, squabble over a few shekels while wallstreet stockbrockers who almost collapsed the global market, get paid seven figure salaries..

Meanwhile, you guys give Israel billions of tax payer dollars EVERY YEAR. Not to mention other shitholes around the globe.

But giving a few more shekels an hour more for a fast paced industry and the lowest paid in the country, is the real issue!

What they should do is get rid of the corporate policies that don't allow you to tip the workers. Tips would bring their overall hourly wage up and cost the companies nothing. I sometimes get a lot better service at a McDonalds than I do at a one-location quick service restaurant, and wouldn't mind throwing them a buck on top of my meal. They may have minimal skills but I see a lot of them busting their ass back there.

The McDonalds in my town seem to be managed better than other places though, because whenever I go to one in another city the service can be dismal in comparison.

A Burger Joint Pays $15 An Hour. And, Yes, It's Making Money

In suburban Detroit, a small but growing fast-casual burger and chicken chain has figured out how to pay higher wages and still be profitable.

When Moo Cluck Moo opened its first location almost two years, the starting pay for all workers was $12.00 an hour. The idea, according to co-founder Brian Parker, was to train everyone to multitask.

No one is just flipping burgers. All of the workers are expected to be jacks-of-all-trades: They bake buns from scratch daily, they house-make aioli and prepare made-to-order grass-fed burgers and free-range chicken sandwiches.

And, now, says Parker, the investment is paying off. Revenue is up at the chain's two locations. And workers are sticking around. And their pay now? It's up to $15 an hour. By comparison, a typical fast-food worker in the U.S. makes about $8 or $9 an hour.

"Because of our low turnover, and the fact that people are really into their jobs, $15 an hour wasn't a big stretch," Parker says.
i didn't say any of that

Why should it be on the consumer?

Sadly, America is capitalism speedballing coke and heroin.

y'all want $15 an hour? come to Seattle.

Seriously if the minimum wage went up with inflation, it would be around $21 an hour. $15 an hour isn't shit to make a living off, that's why I never understood why other, working class Americans, so strongly oppose raising the min wage. The media sure has done a hell of a job brainwashing citizens to ooppose basic workers rights. It's phenomenal really. And pathetic to realize there is so little comradery amongst the working class as a whole.

the min wage is $8 and the govt steals 20% one way or another. then they steal 10% more at tax time. the govt should stop stealing money from anybody makin under $50k a year. the govt should also stop givin companies corporate welfare. all corporate welfare does is enable tax dodgers like mcdonalds to keep wages low. take away the forced tax extortion and corporate welfare and employees can get by on $20 a hour tax free

the ceos get undeserved multi million dollar tax free "retirement packeges" even if they fuck up the company on purpose. that one dude that ran home depot for 5 years got $250 million. then he went someehwre else for a couple years and stole another $100 million "retirement package". what the fuck is so difficult about a ceos job they need $20k/hour on average :beard:

I think there should be no minimum wage. Everyone should earn what they are worth. I own two companies and my stomach turns when I hear this shit about losers protesting low wages.

U wanna make more? Go acquire a skill and make ur self more valuable to a company, u will get paid more.

If u never invest in yourself u deserve to be below the poverty line, and hungry.
