i recently downloaded the tupac discography (7 albums)
and the biggie discography (5 albums) and they were
utter garbage. the production on pacs tracks is bad.
they both predominantly did r n b tracks. very gay.

if these two are the greatest rappers of all time then
no wonder the rap industry is so fucked up. they were
the victim of mass produced crap which they managed to
do thier thing on. good lyricists & vocalists maybe
but ive heard nothing that makes them standout.

is there a ton of tracks ive missed ?

verdict : tupac and biggie were shit

may they rest in peace

I'm not a huge biggie fan, but his shit was coo.

As for 2Pac, you must be out of your fuckin gord. 50 Cent is CRAP, most of what you hear today is CRAP. 50 Cent, Snoop (now), and every other mainstream rapper (with the exception of Ja Rule and Eminem), will not make people think and follow them long after death.

2Pac has done what no other rapper has, and that is keep a fanbase long after death. He grabbed EVERYBODY'S attention, he helped people deal with their own struggles through his music, he worried the government through his music, he paid homage to REAL PEOPLE through his music and made millions feel special because they could relate to a person such as 2Pac.....THROUGH HIS MUSIC!

2Pac may have used some R&B style on his shit, but that's not what people focused on. We all focus on what was SAID, 'cause when it comes to Pac, that's all that matters. I could sit down and listen to 2Pac acapellas and be perfectly content, because it's the content in his lyrics that I look for. As for the beats, to each his own. Jonny J, genius producer, same with Shock G, Daz, DJ Quik, Dr. Dre...etc etc...these people are geniuses (IMO).

Your opinion is your opinion...but to call 2Pac SHIT, is like calling Jimmy Hendrix & Marvin Gaye SHIT...it's like calling Michael Jackson SHIT. It's like spitting on Malcolm and Martins' graves, it's like calling the Black Panthers SHIT. It's like spitting in the face of equality, and telling my generation that we're fuckin idiots for listening to him and thinking he was a genius. It's like agreeing with injustices while speaking AGAINST justice. It's like telling babies and mothers and everyday people that there's no fuckin' hope, that we should just lie down and get fucked.

All of this (and MUCH MUCH MORE), is what 2Pac stood for, what 2Pac spoke for and against. Can ya dig it?

Call him what you want, but I guarantee your favorite rapper is nowhere near the level 2Pac was at.

yeah i'd say only jay-z has come close to their greatness...maybe nas and eminem but not really
Jay Z = most overrated ever, comparing him to Pac is damn near disrespectful. I really dont get it when people talk about how great he is.

Eminem??? Who??? Great???

Honestly, Pac worked with some of the greatest producers in rap. The above list already reads like a fuckin all-star team AND you forgot Rick Rock, Mick Mosley, Warren G and QDIII aka Quincy Jones III

If you want an intelligent reply, I want to hear intelligent reasoning for why 2Pac was "utter crap". Please explain your analysis of Tupac. Also, what kind of music were you raised up on? And what kind of rap do you listen to now?

I mean...you know how 99% of peope, regardless of their taste in music say "yeah, I have respect for the Beatles" or "yeah, I have respect for Elvis" or Hendrix or Marvin Gaye or Stevie Wonder or whoever else. Sayin they respect their music whether or not they actually enjoy it.

That's what 2Pac is to rap music.

Great minds think alike, I suppose.

Yea, them too. My list didn't include all of the producers Pac fucked with, which was my point. My list alone was All-Star...your additions (Warren G, QDIII, Mosley, Rick Rock) just makes it even more unfuckwitable...

Indeed!! We both understand what Pac was to rap music and to the rest of the world. Most rappers are just that, rappers. 'Pac was everything in one person...he was a rapper/actor/poet/activist/revolutionary/lover of children and thought provoking artist/speaker.

You speak the truth. That's why this topic intrigues me so much. This guy is entitled to his opinion, and I'm not gonna try to change his mind or anything. But I'm just really really interested in why he doesn't think Pac was a legend. Maybe he lacks the understanding or the ability to comprehend Pac's meaning, or maybe he sees something that none of us do.

But all that aside, going with what Sydal said, take away the rapper, and I still think Pac was the voice of a generation.

Let me start of by saying that I am really not a Pac fan at all. I like some of his songs but that's about it.

With that out of the way calling Pac (and Biggie) shit is just a way of you trying to get a rise out of Pac and Biggie fans on the board (that's what I think atleast.) I might not like alot of Pac's music but I respect what he did for the rap game...Biggie too. Regardless if you or I feel him or not Pac is a legend in the game and should be respected. The man has been dead damn near 10 years and people still talk about him and his music, buy his music and colleges teach courses on the man and his music.

Then you go and say you want to see how many "intelligent" replies you get when in your original post all you did was call them "utter garbage" and "shit." You didn't make a "intelligent" post to begin with. Whatever though you are entitled to your opinion but after reading your post in my opinion you are ignorant as fuck.
