Yeah this far into the season and Harden is still ballin. Rockets in 8th seed with a good chance to make the playoffs with the Lakers right behind them.
All that is nice, but it counts when its all on the line let's see in the playoffs against the best when everybody is playin tuff. Harden shrank against the Heat in the finals, its all about gettin the job down that makes a player a star.

Honestly, as an OKC fan, I'm glad he's gone. His numbers were good, and PER was good etc... fans loved him here and all that, but something wasn't quite right. It felt like he was hurting the team a lot of times when he was on the court. Best way I can explain it is like with Alex Smith. His numbers were good, he was protecting the ball and not turning it over and the Niners were winning and went to the NFC championship, but that wasn't quite enough. We needed Kaepernick to go next level. We needed to lose Harden I think to make this team better as crazy as it sounds, even though OKC didn't get a Kaepernick in return for Harden leaving. I still believe in this team

Like Rossi said Thunder couldn't afford him but also i do feel like they made the move also cuz Harden just isn't effective against the Heat and thats OKCs biggest opposition even though they cant meet until the finals

If it wasn't for Harden the Thunder aren't even in the finals. As for his play in the playoffs look at his series last season vs the spurs he fed them ham. Also he might of shrank against the heat but so did everyone else on his squad. They were all a bunch of kids going up against seasoned vets in their prime. LeBron choked vs the mavs and I didn't see the Heat looking to get rid of him, let harden grow as a player he is still only 23 years old, no where near his prime yet. Harden, Durant, and Westbrook will all probably be entering there prime in a year or two. To bad we will never get to see what could've been, I ain't to down on it though I wasn't trying to see the Thunder have the west on lock for the next 5-7 years.

I completely disagree, I think Sam Presti was afraid to lose perkins and Ibaka so he panicked and cashed them out when their contracts were about to expire. I think he hoped that Harden was going to give him a home town discount and even made the mistake of under valuing Hardens potential. It backfired on him though and he let go of probably the second best shooting guard in the league for the likes of Kevin Martin.

Also if his in effectiveness is why he got traded then they should've shipped out Ibaka and Perkins because they were nonexistent in the Finals. You don't give up on a 22-23 year old kid becuase he has one bad series of games.

What people fail to realize is if harden didn't take the contract that okc offered him and they didn't trade him, he woulda been playing for a contract and not a ring... And that woulda hurt the team... Only thing kevin martin lacks is hardens defense... Martin is a proven scorer and can put up points if he needs to... And keeping perk and ibaka wasn't a bad move because you need people who can bang down low...

What you fail to realize is it should've never got to a point where Harden was playing for a contract. The GM's main priorities should've been to sign these players to extensions in this order. 1. Durant 2a. Westbrook 2b. Harden. In what world do you sign perkins and ibaka to extensions before you give Harden one? Name one team in the NBA right now who would take perkins and Ibaka over Harden?

Also lol "not a bad move becuase they can bang down low" bang down low vs who?? this isn't 09' the lakers are no longer the team to beat anymore. Small ball has tooken over the nba, Ibaka and mainly Perkins slows down and ruins the thunders momentum. They're young and should be wearing teams out by running up in down the floor.

Also I bet Durant happily signed that extension because in his mind Harden and Westbrook would be by his side for years to come. I don't think he signed it with perkins and Ibaka in mind.

Like I said at the beginning of the NBA season we will see, its all about to unfold the rockets are 8th right now with a chance to make the playoffs. I believe the harden trade helped both harden and the thunder, w/o harden durant can go off so can westbrook. Its now gonna be Harden chance to soar and against the Spurs of all teams let's see if he can be a factor to take his team to the next level. I mean if he is that good! Don't give me that better team bs. 5 on5.

Thunder fell to the Heat like all others did to the champions. But Harden is no LBJ.
And just to say when the Mavericks beat the Heat instead of LBJ chocking how about Jason terry and Dirk started ballin, Shawn Marion, Stevenson and Tyson all started playing D.

Are they gonna pay the max to a bench player? Also it wasn't straight up for Martin they get the Raptors first rounder and dude is a draft master. They still have a hell of a shot to go to the finals. They're still gonna be great for 5-7 years. You're not seeing the big picture. It was make one more run and lose him for nothing in return or trade him for a different bench scorer and a high draft pick. I completely understand the trade.

Again, it was a good move for the Thunder. Kevin Martin has been underrated off the bench and we got a good return for Harden. Why sign Harden to a max deal and risk not being able to sign Ibaka and Perkins? WE NEED IBAKA no matter what and got him at a steal really for what he probably woulda got somewhere else.

And screw Harden. All I ever heard about him is about how he wanted to keep this team together and create a dynasty and how he loved the guys on the team and how money wasn't the biggest issue. He left for basically a million dollars per year if I remember correctly (which OKC was already reaching for) and the "tax benefit" of playing in Texas. He still pays taxes for every other state he plays in other than Texas and Florida which is obviously half of the season, so now he's down to less than a million per year. He sold a grip of t-shirts and jerseys here in this city. More t-shirts and fake beards and all that b.s. than any player by far, they were all over the damn place here and he was a bench player!!! He said he was fine with his role coming off the bench and leading the 2nd team. Obviously he was lying out his butt about all that. He wanted to be the centerpiece. I don't blame him but don't lie the whole time about it. Sefalosha started for a reason that whole time, keep that in mind.
