Right before last xmas when I was living in Seattle my good friend had come home to Seattle from school in Oklahoma. We were going to kick it one day and I was just chillin in my apt. and he calls me and asks if I want to go on a plane ride. Apparently their family friend was in town and he has his own plane so I was like why not. I meet up with him and his family and we have lunch at this little airport in Puyallup.

So my friend and I get into the back of this dinky 4 seater plane and my friends grandpa gets in the passenger and the family friend is in the pilot seat. What we were going to do was fly around MT. Rainier and back. It's loud as fuck in the plane and we all have to wear headphones with mics to talk to each other. It's not bad at first but as we are approaching the mountain it gets more and more turbulent. Then when we are flying over parts of the mountain (looked like we were only 50 feet above it) the plane just starts drastically dropping and rising. My friend and I are looking at each other laughing our asses off but shitting our pants at the same time. This lasted for about a minute while we were over the mountain.

And THEN the pilot lets my friends grandpa start flying the plane because its got the wheel and controls in the passenger seat too. I guess he flew planes in WWII but that didnt make me feel very confident because this dude was OLD and he was making retarded comments and asking stupid questions during the whole thing. And on top of that when he started flying it like doubled the turbulence. Finally the other dude takes back over and we turn around and head back to the airport, its like 10 minutes from the airport to the mountain. I was like pheewww! good thing this is over. And then the fuckin dude asks the grandpa if he wants to land the plane and my friend and I are looking at each other smiling but scared for our lives at the same time. I just closed my eyes and turned off the headphones while the old fuck landed it. Man was I glad that was over.

On a flight home from Dallas last year, the plane literally got sideways, like wings straight up and down. A few people screamed, a few people started sayin "Our Fathers" and "Hail Marys"...I have never been that scared on a plane.

This thread is hella scary.

*knocking on wood*

I havent had that bad of an expierience.

My dad said one time his plane from NJ to Oakland flipped sideways and he saw another jet pass by within 50 yards. That would have made me shit.

OT:

When I flew back from vegas recently my homie puked in a garbage bag instead of those lil ones cause he filled it up. He said he put the full ass trashbag into the small ass trashcan and it was all hanging out full of this chimichanga he at the Tequileria at the airport. He was hammered as fuck. I'm glad he puked it up cause he had to drive our asses back from Phoenix to Tucson. HAHAHAHAHAH

i was gonna post earlier, but been busy...anyway, funny someone mentioned this, cuz i just flew to NY and back. it was the first time since like 2002 that i had flown outside of california, (ive flown from oakland to San diego a few times since then). i dont mind the airplane rides, theyre usually not too boring, but i think what scared me was a little on the way there, but mostly on the way back (at night) the plane was hella shaking and dropping up and down. i dont know what scares me more, the shaking or the dropping. i couldnt eat or watch the tv or read or anything. all i kept thinking was "what if these are my last moments?" and then i'd get all anxious and just wanna be on the ground. its really not that bad when it starts to happen, its just once i let my mind wander.
