u know what, I think the Raiders should trade down and draft Quinn(or Russell), just a few slots. I mean ANY1 of the first 5-7 picks would be great 4 the Raiders......there isnt a whole lot of seperation.....I know u all are bankin on Russell, but Quinn is good

You don't have the power to do that, so don't make the threat.

If they sign Carr, they would probably get Calvin Johnson.

If not, I'd expect them to get JaMarcus Russell.

But you never know with Al Davis.

co-sign! the reason being the raiders are gonna need more than just one player to turn that team around. if they invest everything on russell the raiders are gonna suck for another 3 years guaranteed while they wait to develop russel but most importantly a line to block russell from getting massacared like they did last year. I mean i didnt really watch many chokeland gayder games , but the ones i did see they were getting sacked like 5 times a game.

I voted for JaMarcus Russell. I think he's the best option for the Raiders at this point. We need a franchise qb not a quick fix (like Brooks or Carr). Russell has the strongest arm in the pro's and college, throws with touch, can make "any" throw on the field, quick release, has some mobility, pocket awareness, good mechanics, 6'6 and 250. Al Davis said that Russell reminds him of John Elway. Enough said!

If the Raiders traded Randy Moss.. then I would have voted drafting CJ if the Raiders would have worked out a trade to get Matt Schaub from Atlanta. But since Moss will be staying we need to draft someone that could get him the ball.

The offensive line is already being addressed. Hence: new coaches, personnel changes, new blocking scheme, Newberry and we'll probably draft a few linemen.

If Art was still coaching I'd be worried... But Art and his outdated offensive and blocking schemes are gone people.

Let's draft Russell so we can have our franchise qb.

And don't forget about the hype and recognition we're going to be getting if we use that number one pick instead of trading down (think about it, who's going to want to pay to see a bum like David Carr?). Financial's come in to play here.... If we use that number 1 pick on a franchise qb and start winning we can forget about the local blackouts and being the NFL's team that everyone makes fun of. No more of that bs... were going to be back on top where we belong! We have an opportunity here. Let's not blow it my fellow Raider folkz!

You're right... our Qb's were getting sacked like mad last year.. and when Brooks played he was running for his life. But you got to understand that was under Art Shell's system. Everything he ran (plays, blocking schemes) was pretty much predictable and outdated from an offensive standpoint.

On the real if we did draft Russell you really think the Raiders would suck for another 3 years? Is it because we'll have a rookie head coach and qb?

Just take a look at our off-season additions. New coaches (Rathman, offensive line coach Tom Cable, Offensive Coordinator Knapp), Rhodes (damn near SuperBowl MVP), Griffith or Griffin (pass catching Fullback), Newberry (if/when heatlhy a monster on the o-line)

We still have Porter... Moss might be returning. The Raiders are going to have a squad dog. But please explain why you'll think we'll suck if we draft Russell?

Thats funny, cus al the scouts seem to think so.

Quinn has the potential to be a great NFL QB. Alot of people think he is overrated, but he is one of the smartest QB's in the draft and a heck of an arm.

He'll probably do better then Couch, Garcia, and Frye have in Cleveland if he goes there.

But for the Raiders I don't get the move of bringing in Carr if your gonna take Russell so I say trade down.

The logical answer is Jamarcus Russel, but when was the last time the Raiders were logical in a draft, WE DRAFTED A FUCKIN KICKER IN THE FIRST ROUND! So while I'd like to see Jamarcus Russel, Ima have to go with Calvin Johnson, especially if we trade Moss.

What makes you think Schuab is better then Carr?
Good question 3VID3NC3! I think one year Schaub came in for Vick and played pretty good. I could be wrong but I think hit lit the Patriots defense up in one game. I know he hasn't played too much and it's hard to judge but from the few times that I've seen him play and the highlights, I get the sense he's better than Carr. And obviously Houston does as well!

Gary Kubiak (Houston's head coach) has got some serious credentials dog. He was a qb himself backing up John Elway in Denver, he was QB's coach of the 1994 49ers when they won the SuperBowl, and he was offensive coordinator under Mike Shannahan. Kubiak gave Carr a chance but if Kubiak couldn't correct Carr's flawed mechanics then who can? Kubiak thinks Schaub is better as well that's why they swapped picks with Atlanta, gave up 2nd rounders in the next drafts, gave Schaub that fat contract and released Carr.

So think about it... I know you say I am swingin' from JR's scrotum or whatever but he'll be the best fit for the Raiders if you want to see the Raiders win ball games dog! Kerry Collins, Aaron Brooks, David Carr? That's just getting worse if you ask me.

Stop right there. One game huh? Just like you saw Brady Quinn play "one game". And JaMarcuss play what, 2 games?

Your arguments suck becuase you dont even watch these players play. You base the LIFETIME playing of a player from one to a few games. THIS is why no one takes you SERIOUSLY.
