I work as a server 2 days a week at Dicks Last Resort when im not on the road doing comedy...Its pretty much my extra spending money....Bitches who dont tip properly i always remember...Im a pretty popular server there and if i recognize you as someone who fucked me on my tip I will tea bag your food....Stupid ass rednecks come in and run you to death and tip you 4 bucks on 150....Black folks are the same....And dont get me started on teenagers....If your server does their job right and you dont tip at least 20% dont wonder why your food tastes like my nuts the next time i see you...If you cant afford to tip take your ass to the value menu at mcdonalds

i always tip a generous amount in my eyes, especially with takeout food from little independent places. something like 20-80% tips depending on how high i am

they usually remember your face or recognize your number right away if youre calling in an order and make it good and fast, and kiss your ass a little bit when you show up. i think its worth the extra few bucks. i feel like its showing them i appreciate their job and in return they recognize, remember and appreciate my repeated business.

ive been going to this little chinese takeout place that doesnt make the best food but its still better than panda express, lol. i got their chowmein + sesame chicken combo yesterday and it was like 7bucks, i gave her 12 bucks and said keep the change, her reaction was priceless. typical asian stereotype "Ohhhh no no this too much, too much tip, oh noooo" "no no its ok, please, take it", "ohh ok ok, thank you thank you"
she gave me 4 cheese wontons, 2 eggrolls, 6 potstickers, and a 24 oz pepsi on top of my combo which i realized later she had doubled the amount of chicken, shit was like 3 pounds of chowmein and sesame chicken and she had to rubberband the container to hold it closed, and was like "please take, please thank you" lol. that shit woulda been more than 12 bucks if i had ordered it

I am with most of the people on here I tip according to how well i am served if you cant keep my cup full, my order right or the server is just plain rude i aint leaving shit. now if the cups over runneth and the all round service is good double the tax and will go out of my way to make sure i put the tip in their hand as well as a thank them for the great service. if i catch the manager at anytime i will let them know what great service or horrible service his staff delivered on as well

The only thing worse than a bad tipper is someone who fucks with other peoples food. I wish you nothing but poor tips the rest of your serving career.

This shit goes both ways. If you're a bad tipper you deserve to have your food tampered with and if you give bad service you deserve a small tip if any IMO.

I used to work at a restaurant when I was a youngsta. From the age of 15 to 17 I was a busboy. I pretty much knew the ins and outs of the business because my pops ran the place where I worked. In the past 15 years, I've frequently ate at the best high-end restaurants in napa/bay area. My rule of thumb has always been "you get what you deserve". I know when I go out to these fine-dining establishments I don't look like your typical rich person who should be eating at the places. Usually these servers treat me like A) he must be a drug dealer or B) He's a pimp and he's eating with one of his hookers or C) it must be a special occasion because this fool can't afford to eat here. When I get treated like this I usually tip low around 5-10% (There's only been 1 or 2 instances where I didn't leave a tip at all but never at a high end restaurant). When servers can look past the skin color, the way I dress, the way I talk and treat me the same way they treat their typical customers I ALWAYS reward them with a fat tip.

Those chinese restaurants are the shit.

Me and my fam have been going to one since i was a kid and they keep our table free throughout their lunch period incase we come in. Latest I have ever waited for my food, was 10 minutes. Cant say that about many other chinese places in my area.

Man I used to get mad as fuck when nobody tipped me for valet parking in Hollywood Park Casino, 5 minutes of running to get your car and no tip and return was depressing. I kept mental notes, so now I'll never run out of lighters and quarters....thats for damn sure. The same thing goes to waiters and waitresses, you better tip them next time before something mysteriously ends up in your food.

A tip is a tip its extra.
A VOLUNTARY additional payment for services rendered.
I HATE when fools expect or sollicit a tip. Even if I was going to tip in the first place if someone in someway asks for a tip I won't give one.
But if the services is good, meaning they do something other than bring me my food. ie fast friendly thoughtful service without rushing me through my meal then a tip is appropriate.
Even if the food was not that good they still might get a tip as they did not cook it and are not at fault.
Bad service= 2 cents in a glass of water.

that scene was filmed at a very different time though. you cant just up and quit a job in this day and age. and most waitresses do not make minimum wage and rely on tips to make any type of decent money. the people at mcdonalds make atleast minimum wage and there not really putting any effort into giving you there food. it isnt like they bring it out to you or even go to you to get you're order. when i go out i automatically tip 20%. if they suck i will tip 10% and if they were above average i pay 30%.
