vick is a dope qb. completion pct and qb rating ARE OVERRATED. you conveniently forget that vick threw as many touchdowns, produced as many yards and had less turnovers than TOM BRADY last year. people always make the argument against vick AS IF HE'S BEEN GIVEN ALL THESE TOOLS TO SUCCEED. peerless price? gimme a break. hes never been a number one receiver and never will be.

the oline according to rich mckay was NOT built to pass block.

when the most mobile qb in the game is sacked 49 times in a season somethings wrong and the oline might have something to do with that. dont give me that best rushing team in the league crap its a gimmick oline that opens lanes for cutback runners but leaves the oline pushed back into a collapsed pocket.

for every sack vick "runs into" he runs AWAY from two more.

like i asked somebody before name me a season vick has played where peyton manning would have took the team to a super bowl. it wont happen. vick is expected to make wine out of sewer water and due in large part to his enormous contract.

I GUESS IM THE ONLY ONE WHO WOULD TAKE 130 MILLION DOLLARS. im sure the rest of you would say, "well,, im not really worth that id rather play for just half that. yeah that seems fair"

get real vick did what any one of us would do and just because blank wanted to give him that contract vick has had expectations put on him that were simply unattainable.

Sorry you feel that way

But guess what..it wasn't the contract that did it.

How about the fact that he was #1 pick and was traded for easily the best rb in the nfl the past few years...you don't think that has anything to do with it? Same as carr, same as leaf, same as Jamarcus this year

any QB that is drafted early has the expectations..contract has nothing to do with it

And regrading Brady.....there is a difference

Brady can manage a game and puts them in a spot to win...Vick doesn't do that.

Like I always tell Tony...there is more to the game than Stats!

well after thinking about the brady comparsion I went ahead and looked at stats...NOT EVEN CLOSE like Phil woud like you to believe

Vick has NEVER thrown for 3000 yards, while Brady has Never thrown for less than 3000 (except last year in 15 games he had 2843, only 157 away in 1 less game)

Vicks best TD total throwing the ball 20, Brady's worse....18...Brady mid to high 20's consistently

and last but not least Vicks career % 53.8....Brady's 61.9 (almost 10 % higher)

This is news to me so I thought I'd post it, LeShon Johnson was convicted in 2005.

"Vick isn't the first U.S. professional athlete accused of running a dogfighting operation. In 2005, former NFL running back LeShon Johnson pleaded guilty to Oklahoma dogfighting charges and received a five-year deferred sentence. Former National Basketball Association forward Qyntel Woods received 12 months' probation and was required to perform 80 hours of community service after pleading guilty in 2005 to a misdemeanor animal-abuse charge after a dogfighting arrest in Oregon."

Article also mentions Floyd Boudreaux, the 'godfather of dogfighting' who is going up on 48 counts of dog-fighting charges, by the state of Louisiana...been fighting dogs his whole life and will probably die in jail.
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601079&sid=aRV...

they mention Big Boi's (Outkast) kennel in there, and he claims they are show dogs rather than fighing dogs. ????

Floyd Boudreaux has been charged with 48 counts of dog-fighting, and two counts of possession of schedule three drugs. His son, Guy, has been charged as principal to 48 counts of dog-fighting.

After several continuances in the case, a new trial date for both men has been set for January 14th, 2008.

The district attorney's office in Lafayette has filed charges against a father and son arrested nearly a year ago in a dog-fighting raid.
Internationally known pit-pull breeder Floyd Boudreaux and his son guy are charged with 48 counts of dog-fighting and possession of steroids. Investigators say the dogs were injected with the drugs to make them stronger.

59 Pit Bulls were confiscated in a raid of the Boudreaux home in Youngsville last March of 2005. 57 of the dogs were put to sleep.

Charges have been filed in a high-profile dog-fighting case against two Acadiana men. Floyd Boudreaux and his son, Guy were arrested in March of 2005. Now, the father and son have been charged with 48 counts of dog-fighting.

They've also been charged with one count of possession of testosterone and one count of ketamine, both of which are Schedule III narcotics. Cruelty to animals charges are still on hold. Almost 70 pit bulls, some of them puppies, were seized from the Boudreaux's property and were later euthanized.

The head of the Louisiana SPCA says all 56 grown pit bulls seized during a raid near Lafayette last week have been euthanized, including a fighter reportedly worth at least 25-thousand dollars.

A dogfighting expert with the SPCA said all of the dogs were worth about 250-thousand dollars.

Authorities said the dogs were taken from the home of 70-year-old Floyd Boudreaux, who has marketed the dogs to buyers throughout the United States as well as Mexico, Japan and other countries.

State police booked Boudreaux, and his son, 40-year-old Guy Boudreaux, with dogfighting, animal cruelty, possession of a sawed-off shotgun and illegal possession of anabolic steroids, a schedule III narcotic.

Under Louisiana law, criminal violations associated with dogfighting carry penalties of up to 10 years in prison. Authorities also seized four puppies that had not reached fighting age.

reeves wasnt going to take lt anyways so he wasnt passed up. you forget to mention 3 other teams who "passed him up". hindsight is 20/20

you say theres more to a game than stats and i agree scary1.

you forgot to mention brady has a defense to back him up, a POWER running game, an ELITE offensive line, and superior coaching. not even in the same class. yet you expect vick to produce the same results. come on look at it without the goggles on bro. atlanta hasnt had a decent team outside of vick since 99 started and jamal blew his first knee out

coaching staff, depth, studs on both sides of the trenches its NOT EVEN CLOSE YOURE A FOOL IF YOU THINK SO.

Vick was a great running back, passing completion percentage isn't overrated, except to Vick fans. Vick could not hit his wide receiver's when they were open, they couldn't catch it because his passes were always coming out at bad angles, on the run and with no real timing. Face it.. Vick was not as good as alot of people made him out to be. He was going to "revolutionize" the QB position?? Into what?? I am sad to see Vickie go, though because the Bucs beat his ass on a regular basis.
