well he admits to "collectively killing 8 dogs" in april and that he provided money for others to bet with. i dont know how the league is going to look at that but it sounds like gambling to me. but at the same time it goes out of its way to say that vick made no side bets and didnt take part in the winnings of the purses. not looking good. mort and his rumors. fuck.

see this is where it is confusing......this is where I think is friends DIDN'T roll on him.

Tell me.....why would anyone just give their friends money to bet on dogs that he has already acknowledged to owning, but not get a kickback????

he knew gambling caused a big problem so he said he'll admit to killing dogs take his cahnce on getting off light compared to the big 25+ year gambling charges and lifetime ban nfl for gambling...I don't know just speculation.

Doubt it...he'll get a minimum of 1 year from Goodell...and that's easy for ol' Roger. And that could be AFTER possible jail time...

Who knows?
nobody does we just have to wait and see......

as the world turns. lol

whatever happens i hope the best for vick. just the overkill of negative publicity alone has been harsh punishment and then hes probably going to prison on top of that? good thing is the plea agreement states the prosecutors are recommending the low end of the time guidelines. so he should be out in under a year.

scary1, what did you think of the wording saying vick would have to cooperate fully do they mean they want him to snitch on others or what???

agreed

I do not see him on the field in 08 at all. remember sentencing isn't until Nov or Dec..so even if he only gets say 10 months you are still loooking at sept or oct to get out, no football for 07 seasons, no training camp in 07 or 08...he will not be game ready at the end of oct 08.

Also thats assuming roger lets the suspension run concurrent to his jail term...I don't see him doing that either since Vick flat out lied to his face in his office about his role.

my theory is that he was there for the sport. i dont really think mike gave a fuck about a thousand dollars. but no opponent is there fighting for fun feel me? my feeling is he was basically paying to play, and the fact that he didnt take any of the proceeds proves he wasnt in it for the gambling. but youre right, it looks like its worded to please certain people who have a duty to decide vicks future in the nfl. looks like a collective effort. its gonna take a massive p.r. campaign to get past the killing of the dogs. thats some fucked up shit but even the wording is elusive there. collectively as in they all had hands in it? or did he just order the killing? hard telling, i guess we'll have to see monday.

I would expect so....but maybe he is agreeing to that for terms of sentencing for all the others that plead guilty.....

they can use his testimony as asentencing point for the others that plead before him.

No sure the prosecution as asked for the minimum...but that doesn't mean anything. It's up to the judge on the case..he can say thanks prosecution for the recommendation but ehh naw 3 years....lol

I don't think he'll get that much myself, but I have heard this is a hard nosed judge so we'll see

yeah im worried about the judge, hes a bush appointee on top of that so it might get hairy. he can get the whole 5 years or he can get probation its up to the judge. i dont know what the sentencing guidelines are for his level. what was the level by the way 15 or 13? it got confusing to me right there.

roger cossacks take on the plea

Highlights...

1) Vick admitted to gambling by funding it, but not collecting any winnings.
2) Vick admitted to participating to killing dogs (doesn't say he physically did it, but participated).
3) Government is recommending low-end of the sentencing (12 months)
4) Vick agreed to testify on others involved in dog-fighting, in the hopes of greater leniency (unknown as to what he would get)

A couple points were made:

1) If item 4 above resulted in further reduction of sentencing, most of his time could potentially be spent at home.
2) Item 3 is a recommendation by teh Gov't, not set in stone. It is still up to the judge to apply the sentence.
3) Unknown as to whether addtional information being shared bewteen Vick and the Feds could result in further delays in sentencing.

Again, his words on the plea.
i looked at the sentencing guidelines and it goes from 12 months low end of level 13 to 24 months max for level 15.

so hes probably gonna get a year. looks like hes gonna start snitchin on somebody.

how are we done? i can break down every falcons game from last season. you cant sit here and tell me you watch every game, therefore your opinion is jack shit. you saying that atlanta is thinking about moving him to rb shows you probably get your info from profootballtalk.com the national enquirer of the nfl. petrino has stated repeatedly that vick has the tools AND ACCURACY to succeed in his offense and also mentioned vick would be able to throw for 65% completion. i'll take the word from a guy who turned a laughingstock into a national contender in the ncaa over you any day.
You do that, buddy. Any rational person can see that Vick is a HORRIBLE QB. He makes stupid decisions and his accuracy past 15 yards is shaky at best.

Let me respond to you with an educated answer.

1) I am not hating Vick...I am hating the actions he choose to take with his life while having enough money to do whatever the fuck he wants legaly.

2) 1 year and probabtion? I am willing to bet you whatever you would like it is more than 1 year (probably indefinately), and he will serve jail time....will it be 1 week or 5 years...thats up inthe air right now...I say right about 10-12 months....but it will be some jail and not JUST probabtion.

3) "lol@Vick not being a dope QB...are you fucking out of your mind? DO YOU REALLY WATCH FOOTBALL? ha ha"

Do you watch football? he ISN'T a dope QB....he is actually a below average QB! He can't read a defense, he is very inaccurate, and has not proven in his many great years to be able to LEAD a team.

If you were to say he is a dope athlete...then you MAY have a case, but dope qb??? naw no case at all.
