it's bsically bass music if you go to the airliner in LA they mix dubsteo with Gucci, wacka, Wayne, etc. plus dubstep has been evolving so much, the english heads who make dubstep have studied the shit outta southern beats and added much more of a southern feel to new dubstep tracks.

99.99% of dubstep is absolute garbage. there is a few decent songs in there but they go for about 5 mins and are pretty much the first minute on repeat. the problem is that like rap beats there is a shitload of kids that think they are a pro producer and make so many shit tracks. also the whole scene surrounding the genre is gay as fuck.

None of the dubstep tracks posted in this thread are even remotely close to trance, rave, or drum n bass. In fact, none of it really gives the listener a good idea of what dubstep ACTUALLY is. Like someone said, its morphed so much over the last 5 years, thats its all muddled now. Hell, one could even say that Gucci Gucci by Kreayshawn is "dubstep".

the only definite traits we can give of dubstep is that the shit is usually synth, uses bass modulation, and theres heavy syncopation in the drums.

Pretty much. REAL dubstep has roots in dub/reggae, thus the word "dub" in it. In fact, it originates in Jamaica and was adopted by the UK and it basically starting morphing there as soon as white folks got their hands on it.

I blame Jersey Shore and all the fist pump music which to me is sorta cousins with the dubstep, Ive heard a couple good tracks but I cant listen to the genre for long periods of time
