UPS and FED EX are both rather easy jobs, but physically and mentally, the shit will drive you nuts. I use to work for ups for about 3 yrs. Ups has the better benefits package, but fedex will give you more money because they have no benefits. During the whole dot com era there was tons of room for advancement, but nowadays I hear its hard to move anywhere. I just got tired of the same ol shit everyday, lift sort un/load, keeping the missorts out of the trailer. Then if you do a good enough job and keep your shit on pace, or ahead of the rest of the workers, youre rewarded with more work.

theres different fed ex's ( freight, ground, and somethin else) ground deals with small packages like these dudes are talkin bout workin they ass off, freight deals with heavy shit like pallets, i work for fed ex freight, i hop on a forklift and stay on it all day, i dont work too hard. i get an 80 cent pay raise every 6 months, i been there for 3 years and im makin 17 an hour right. i think workin there is cool ass fuck.
They don't have the time or money to monitor that stuff. You could easily send illegal shit. Just make sure its packaged well.

i work at ups right now been there for 2 yrs. night shift 10:30 - 3:00 in richmond. my job is easy, i sort the boxes the unloaders send out the trailors. i make $12+ change & if i go in on sundays i get paid double time so thats almost $25 hr.(last sunday we got 9 1/2 hrs.) we laugh at those new hires that bust they ass cuz the superviser say we need this traior in 20 min. they be sweatin like a pig. when i started, i was loadin, but i took my time everyday, missed hella days & still miss hella days damn near 1 or 2 a week & they dont say shit. that shit is hard work but you can make your job easy.
i heard of people that worked at fed ex in concord & benicia in the wherehouse, that was stealin shit every damn day.
i heard of another driver that used to bring 2 or 3 boxes of jordans/ imacs/ PS games/ baby clothes/ authentic jerseys/ hella shit to the spot. he used to be like shoot me $500 by the time i get off work & you can have the whole box. a nigga would go to school & 5 or 6 pair of shoes was gone in less then a hour. it was 12 pair of shoes in each box. that was a lick dude ended up gettin fired for failing a drug test.

I heard a fucked up story at the hub in san bruno where I use to work at. A box full of Jelly beans some how got open. while the box is awaitng a retape, all of the guys who drive around the irregs (iregulars 70lbs+) dipped their hands into the box, grab a quick snack. UPS got the whole thing on camera and fired about half a dozen guys for "stealing from compnay property" that was stupid.
a cool story about a guy getting fired was one of the managers on the night shift (11p-4a) got fired cause he was caught on the parking lot security cam getting a BJ from some fat female security guard on company time. it shouldnt be funny but i always thought it was.

i worked as a package handler at FedEx from November 2001 til June of last year... and that IS the most physically challenging position they got there... i used to have to get up as early as 4 AM (during peak season-- christmas) to get to work, and it aint fun during the winter... and keep in mind that this is the bay area, and the winters here aint shit compared to kansas city..... my part time paychecks were about 150 a week....
i get paid an average of 600 a week as a driver... and this is for home delivery.... only bad thing about this job is that you gotta be slick about smokin weed because you never know when the DOT will stop by and give random piss tests....
my boss is considering moving me to FedEx ground where you drive the big ass trucks and get paid an upwards of 50 G's a year.... though that won't really have much of an affect on me because i'm getting my real estate license within 6 months.... but if its some extra cash then whatevers clever...

and oh yeah, when driving for FedEx, you'lle find out how fuckin stupid your customers can be.... tell them to "sign for this package" and some of these fucks are totally clueless.... they'lle ask you where to sign when its obvious that you're supposed to sign in the big box on the touch screen, which is the only space on there big enough to hold a signature....
and every day you'lle be delivering at least 5 packages that are signature required (i had like 15 today... fuck you apple computers and beverages & more) and if you're delivering them to a house, theres like an 80% chance no one will be there to sign for it because everyone living there is at work or school... you're required to attempt these packages for 3 days before the terminal takes it back, but you only get paid for one attempt.... and some of these irresponsible fuckers plain and simply give a fuck about getting their package, they don't call 1-800-Go-FedEx after i leave a notice after the first 2 tries, or even leave you a note on their front door telling you what to with the package, and they make you waste your time in attempting that shit 3 times just so it can get returned to sender....

I was always wonderin....what if you take a package like once every couple of months, will they get suspicous? cuz I had my package lost once...cant the people that work there say it got lost o sumthin?
