coo.....a thread about FED EX.

im thinking about applying there sometime this week or next week as a package handler....what's good about being a package handler there besides getin a good work? any down sides?

my boy works at UPS as a package handler....he must like it though...he gets paid everyweek...hes been there for a 'lil over a year...hours are from 3am til i think 9 or 10am

how long til you are able to drive tho? i heard fed ex will start you as a driver right away but UPS has a waiting line of like 3 years.. so youre a loader until you find an open spot. Dont you have to be 21 and over to drive too?

termite exterminator pays 18 an hour starting.. and you only work 3 hours but get paid the full 8.

if a contractor is looking for a driver, you basically start driving after you pass the driving course (easy if you're not stupid) and after you ride along with someone for a few days

4 HOURS WILL FEEL LIKE ENTERNITY!!! DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE LABOR LOADING/UNLOADING IS NO JOKE... NO BREAKS AT ALL VERY FAST PACED SHIT TRUST ME.. EVEN THO IT'S PART-TIME HOURS YOU'RE PUTTIN IN FULL-TIME LABOR...

WELL THE DOWNSIDE OF FEDEX IS THAT THERE IS NO 401K BENEFITS (i found this out after i got hired) THERE ARE FULL BENEFITS BUT YOU HAVE TO COMPLETE 1,000 HOURS OR ONE YEAR OF EMPLOYMENT... NOT MUCH ROOM FOR ADVANCEMENT.. BUT THE WORK IS TOUGH YOU WILL LOOSE WEIGHT AFTER WORKIN THERE AWHILE.. UPS IS A BIGGER COMPANY THEN FEDEX BUT FEDEX STARTS YOU OFF AT 10.00 AN HOUR V.S. 8.50 AT UPS... 12 BUX AN HOUR IS THE MAX OF A PACKAGE HANDLER SALERY UNLESS YOU WORK PRELOAD WHICH STARTS OUT AT 11 BUT ENDS AT 13 AN HOUR..
