I liked Apocalypto too, good movie. It was pretty inaccurate but entertaining none the less.

Obviously after the past few posts I would say The Departed was the best film of 2006 though lol. Apocalypto was probably somewhere in my top 10 though.

I was just trying to get a feel for what kind of movies you liked, that's why I asked.

I would have to watch it again to appreciate it fully but i just thought it was a bit thin. I mean, the whole movie they drilled for oil and tried to get money out of people. There wasn't many underlying themes besides the whole religious aspect and Daniel pretty much fucking over anyone he could, family or not, to get ahead.

You just described the plot....doesnt seem any thinner than any other film.

i liked the departed as well. im not saying that the two acclaimed movies of 07 were awful, but i feel like since it was a horrible year for movies those received the praise they did atop a heap of garbage. feel me? there are prior oscar winners that shit all over these movies, yet i hear people speak as if these movies are all time greats. i just dont get it.

look at the last 20 winners of best picture. these two movies fall somewhere in the bottom 5 for me. by far.

I honestly think There Will Be Blood will go down as a all time great. As much as I liked No Country... I don't think that one will or really deserves to either.

And you are smoking something serious if you liked Titanic better then either of those movies. Especially if you liked it better then There Will Be Blood.

I think I now know why we will have to just agree to disagree.

^^^ Because that was such a great movie

I still don't understand the hype for No Country. The number of people I've talked to about it the majority think it was weak. Only a small amount liked it.

Not enough people saw There Will Be Blood, but I thought it was good.

Yeah, I thought No Country was cool...but the ending really fucked it up...YES..I'm one of the dudes who likes a good ending. Doesn't have to be a happy one. But it sure can't be a shitty one.

I thought it had a shitty one...but the rest of the movie was dope.

Most of the people I spoke to about it felt the same way...that the ending was weaksauce.

I got the 2-Disc Collector's Edition of "There Will Be Blood." The Extras disc is kinda weak tho
