Management said that Guillen was let go because he was bad influence on the young players, I could give a shit if he had a lot left in his tank, with Posey blooming and Sandoval getting his swing back, how the fuck is this supposed to help?

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Kansas City Royals and San Francisco Giants worked early Friday to complete a trade that would send outfielder Jose Guillen to the Bay Area team, a source close to the deal said.

Upon completion of the trade, Guillen was expected to fly from Miami to San Francisco in time to debut in the series that begins Friday between the Giants and San Diego Padres. The Giants began the weekend 2½ games behind the Padres, who lead the NL West.

Guillen was designated for assignment last Thursday by the Royals. The club had until Saturday to trade, release or reinstate the most expensive player on its roster.

Guillen was hitting .255 with 16 homers and 62 RBIs as a designated hitter this season. With San Francisco, he would play right field.

Guillen is in the final season of a $36 million, three-year deal with Kansas City.

2:37pm: The Giants will pay $250K of Guillen's salary and send a low to mid-level prospect to the Royals, according to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle (Twitter link). That's about $138K more than the pro-rated portion of the major league minimum salary, so the Royals obtain more than they would have had they released Guillen.

I think i'm the only one not upset? Could be easily lightning in a bottle! I have no worries about him fucking with our team chemistry cause if he does he's instantly gone. I remember(not sure if it was here) people bitching about getting pat the bat too. low risk high upside move imo.

I don't mind nate being benched, and ishikawas average has dropped 70 points in the last 3 weeks but for Guillen to start at right field right away, instead of earning it like Burrell in left field, just sayin....
