With a win tonight we move into a dead even tie with Atl for the wild card. Hopefully, the weak ass dodgers can beat the madres tonight.

that was today, shit was hella funny...

on the other hand, i fucking hate when the giants do this shit, is this the 3rd or fourth time where they can barely score in the first 2 games of a 3 game series then in the final game the bats wake up and score double digits or close to it? im all for it but gotdamn dont wait until the last game to put up some runs we need to win every series...

damn Giants just beat the modern baseball record of 17 straight games where they've held the opponents to 3 runs or less. 16 straight was held since 1920.

Shortstop Edgar Renteria is motivated to return strongly from a sore elbow and help the Giants go deep into the postseason, because these could be the final games of his 15-year major-league career.

Renteria said he might retire at 34 after two maddening seasons that included elbow surgery after the 2009 season and three trips to the disabled list in 2010 with groin, hamstring and shoulder injuries. He declared that a World Series with the Giants would be an exciting capstone to a career that included a championship with Florida in his second season, 1997.

"I feel good," Renteria said. "My mind is good, but sometimes the body says, 'No,' because I've had a lot of injuries this year."

Renteria is concluding a two-year, $18.5 million contract that was derided by fans and even rival front offices for a player who was seen as going downhill. He acknowledged he did not live up to the deal.

"I'm not proud of what I've done," he said. "If they pay me to play, I just want to give back, not get injured. That's me."

Manager Bruce Bochy said that with Pablo Sandoval struggling, Renteria might get some starts as soon as this weekend in Colorado, with Juan Uribe shifting to third base.

Renteria has been told he would make a good coach, but he said if he retires he will pursue business opportunities in Florida, where he has a home, and his native Colombia.

Torres goes deep: A quick return for center fielder Andres Torres seemed likelier after he took batting practice Thursday for the first time since his Sept. 12 appendectomy. Swinging tentatively at first, Torres gradually increased his torque and completed the first round with two home runs. He then took another half round before calling it a day.

"I feel better," Torres said. He batted only left-handed because he still feels some pain when he swings right-handed.

Giants should have sent Pablo Strandemall to the minors earlier in the year to work out his hittin woes, they did the same thing in 89 with a struggling Matt Williams and he came back that year and wrecked shop...
