How old are his kids anyway? If you look at it this way, if his kids are to young to understand (say 1 - 3 years old) I'm pretty sure they won't remember anything that happend to them as they get older. The only possible way they'll remember, is if the story is brought back up over and over again. And I agree, that shit will damage their self esteem and will also scar their heart if they found out. But it needs to be kept as a secret from them, it shouldn't be revealed to them. If they don't know what happend yet.
