4th violation for the NFL substance abuse policy. This dude doesn't learn.

League suspends Dolphins RB Williams

NFL.com wire reports

NEW YORK (April 25, 2006) -- Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams was suspended for the 2006 season by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy for the fourth time.

The league announced the suspension after Williams' appeal of a his latest positive drug test was denied. Williams met with NFL counsel Jeff Pash on April 10 in an attempt to have the league overturn the test.

Previous positive tests were for marijuana, which Williams acknowledged using. The latest test apparently involved a drug other than marijuana.

Williams retired and sat out the 2004 season, but returned last year to play for new Miami coach Nick Saban.

Before being allowed to return, Williams served a four-game suspension at the start of the season for his third violation of the drug program. He ran for 743 yards and averaged 4.4 yards a carry while sharing playing time with rookie Ronnie Brown.

He probably won't play in the NFL again......dude ruined his career....
I agree. I just think he has problems that go deeper than drugs. He demonstrated that he "wanted" to play in the league again (or at least wanted to earn a paycheck...maybe to pay back the 8.6 million he owes Miami?). I don't know if it's part of his social disorder or whatever it is, but he just doesn't seem metally capable of holding himself together in a way that a professional athlete these days needs to. I think he means well, but it seems like there has to be something else going on with him to fail 4 drug tests. He'll be 30 if he comes back next year. It's a shame too because the Dophins are my team. At least Ronnie Brown showed signs of promise....

When Ricky left New Orleans Brooks said he was weird. I don't know if it's true or not but there were rumor going around saying his locker used to stink. But yeah Ricky is blowing it big time. Maybe he took some kind of steroid to get his muscles back.

I don't think it's steroids. They would have said steroids I would think.

I am thinking something like a cold pill or something. I was thinking X or coke at first but I don't know if those are on the banned list

The latest Draft news and rumors involving the Saints, Cowboys, Packers, Broncos, Steelers and Dolphins

04/25...Talk around the league is heating up with just 4 days to go before the Draft and here's the latest...The New Orleans Saints have confirmed that several teams have contacted them with interest in the Saints second overall pick in the Draft but none of the teams offered the Saints enough for the team to consider trading the pick...the Green Bay Packers held their pre-draft media meeting on Monday and the team stated that they will trade WR Javon Walker for fair compensation...

the Broncos, Eagles and three other unnamed teams have expressed interest in Walker with the Broncos being the front-runners at this time...elsewhere...the league is supposed to decide the fate of Dolphins Rb Ricky Williams today and the word around the league is Williams has won his appeal and will be dealt by the Dolphins either before or during the Draft...the Broncos once again appear to be the front runner for Williams and have extra picks in the second and third rounds...the Dolphins are without a second round pick in the upcoming Draft and have just two picks in day one...elsewhere...Dallas Owner Jerry Jones stated that the Cowboys will be looking to trade down in the first day of the Draft to land a fourth round pick...the 'Boys don't have a fourth round pick of their own...Jones also hinted that the team will be looking at players on the defensive side of the ball in the first round of the Draft...and last but not least...the Steelers held their pre-draft media meeting on Monday and director of operations Kevin Colbert stated that the Steelers will be willing to move up in the Draft for a player they covet...the Steelers have 10 picks in the Draft and want to use the extra picks as trade-bait...the Steelers should have no trouble finding a trading partner because their are several teams that want to move down on the first day of the Draft.

I just meant that, being in the spotlight, maybe his social disorder has an affect on him and makes it difficult to deal with the everyday pressures that a professional athlete has to deal with and makes him act out in different ways. But I guess only Ricky will know the real truth. What a waste of talent.
