its easy to say you'd take Qaddafi when your here in the U.S. surfing high speed internet thats with in your budget and speaking your mind freely on any subject you want with out government interference.

your speaking with emotion player, not logic.
your speaking out of blind nationalism, and are using cliches. Let's see how happy the Libyan people are after the West sink their teeth into that country and those so-called rebels become the economic elite while the rest of the country withers away.

We have different priorities player, you say "democracy" for the Libyan people out with the dictator, I say democracy for the African continent and out with the foreign powers and their dogs.

i do gotta kinda respect the libyan people (or whatever coalition govt is left) being way more transparent than the US govt. they got the bodies of gadaffi and his son on display for all to see.

bet halliburton and all them are going to make a killing once their economy is opened up to foreign interests.

i can't really say africa is the final frontier, in all honesty, because europe had its way with the entire continent for centuries as far as resources go (dutch, english, french, italians, etc). only because of that history (read: white guilt) is africa pretty much left to their own devices, even when shit is HELLA FUCKED UP (common place rapes, the genocide in rwanda, the complete lack of any govt in somalia right now). africans have been wanting to show the world that they can be autonomous and the rest of the world is sometimes scared to intervene even when they really should.

gadaffi was a character. it'll be interesting to see how this shit all turns out for them. are they going to become a radical islamic nation? is the US gonna try and help the liberation (read: colonization) process?

i just found out the truth about this whole bullshit

Gaddafi and his country along with other African countries were on the way to creating a "United states of Africa" complete with its own military and its own currency backed by gold and silver, and they would refuse to do business with countries that didnt have currency backed by gold and silver (like america).

So imagine one large country with the most natural resources in the world (gold diamonds oil etc) being united with a military and its own currency protecting all of its resources... it would be the most powerful shit ever.

at the end of the day he faught knowing he was gonna lose, i respect that. you might put your own life on the line but not your sons grandsons, etc. all but his wife, daughter + kids, stayed in libya and faught so that says something
He didn't fight. He ran away and hid...and had other people fight for him.

Then when the rebels caught up to his ass, he ran and hid in a fucking drainage pipe. And when they got him off the truck, he was a scared little bitch...'cause he knew he was fuckin' DONE!

Libya has a 40% unemployment rate.

Gaddafi mistreated and tortured his own people.

Gaddafi provided basic necessities to the people of his country so they would RELY ON HIM! He had more power that way. You make people reliant on government, you take away their power as people.

Gaddafi lent his support to Idi Amin.

What else has he done?

Shooting at unarmed protestors.

Shutting off water, electricity, and communication.

Burning houses.

Destroying graves of deceased protestors.

Looting houses of protestors.

Launching rockets at cities indiscriminately.

Attacking hospitals and ambulances.

Attacking protestors using ambulances.

Killing doctors for treating people.

Encouraging violence via television run by the state.

Destroying mosques.

Forcing migrant workers to become mercenaries.

Stealing money and phones.

Attacking Livestock.

This was all just THIS YEAR! What about the other 40+ years he was in power?

We said the same shit about the oil when we went to Iraq. Where's the oil from that little endeavor?

People were protesting peacefully...Gaddafi started having them killed. That's when the intervention took place.

Don't get me wrong, Gaddafi was captured and should have stood trial for his crimes. Killing him makes those who did it no better than he was.
