Oscar, and heres why:

With all of Floyd's theatrics leading up to this fight, people are going to expect him to deliver. And by deliver, I don't think that just means to win the way he usually wins. I think people are expecting him to punish Oscar and stand toe to toe with him, like he promised...people want to see an all out war, even more so now with all of the hype behind it.

That will be Floyd's downfall for this fight, and his first real career humbling moment, because he's going to learn, that punches from a 154 pounder are much harder than one's at 130-147, where Floyd's been at most of his career.

I think Oscar & Co. are going into this match with the perfect gameplan...which I think is to force Floyd out of his element, and force him to stand up and brawl. Oscar is going to keep Floyd on the ropes as much as possible and cut the ring off. Look for Oscar to go to the body early, to try and negate Floyd's speed in the later rounds.

I'm a fan of both Oscar and Floyd's...I think that Floyd is pound for pound the best fighter in the world right now, but I feel like in order to be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Muhammad Ali, he needs a humbling moment, only to come back better the next time around.

Oscar by decision.

Oscar win or lose has nothing to cry about. That man will make more money off this one fight than what Floyd will make his whole career.

Not only that. But compare the opponents that each of these guys have faced. Oscar has fought the best out there. Period.

You seriously cannot began to compare the quality of Floyd's opponents to Oscar's. You could take the "weakest" of all the top notch fighters Oscar's faced and Zab ain't as good.

Oscar has fought the bigger names:

Oscar de la hoya:

Loss to Bernard Hopkins, KO 9th rd
Loss to Shane Mosley (twice), UD & SD 12
Win against Fernando Vargas, TKO 11
Win against Arturo Gatti, TKO 5
Loss to Felix Trinidad, MD 12
Win against Julio Cesar Chavez (twice), TKO 8
Win against Hector Camacho (1997), UD 12

Mayweather:

Win against Zab Judah
Win against Arturo Gatti
Win against Jose Luis Castillo (twice)
Win against Jesus Chavez (twice)
Win against Diego Corrales

But, as I mentioned in a different thread (or maybe this one?), who else is there/was there to fight Mayweather? He was in the lower weightclasses than de la hoya and there hasn't been nearly as many big name opponents, so you really cant take that away from mayweather. He faught nearly everyone he should have/could have (besides maybe one fighter).

After watching the replay of the Trinidad fight I thought he De La Hoya outpointed Trinidad. At first I though Trinidad won but after watching the replay.... De La Hoya should have been awarded the victory.

As for the fights with Sugar Shane... Sugar won the first fight and that was a good fight. The second one could have been awarded to De La Hoya... But don't forget that De La Hoya should have lost to that Sturm dude...

after watchin those 24/7 episodes Mayweather is annoying.
Do u think theirs gonna be alot of racial tension in the crowd?
Ive been at a few big fights an it always seem the race cards gets involved an u hear alot of N words from the latino side an alot of wetback, etc from the others, its crazy because u know more then half the time no one is really racist at all but events an fights like this bring it out.

Dementia pugilistica, also called chronic traumatic encephalopathy, pugilistic Parkinson's syndrome, boxer's dementia, and punch-drunk syndrome, is a neurological disorder which affects some career boxers and others who receive multiple dazing blows to the head. The condition develops over a period of years, with the average time of onset being about 16 years after the start of a career in boxing.

The condition, which occurs in people who have suffered multiple concussions, commonly manifests as dementia, or declining mental ability, and parkinsonism, or tremors and lack of coordination. It can also cause unsteady gait, inappropriate behavior, and speech problems.

Famous sufferers include Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, Beau Jack and, more recently, Muhammad Ali, Floyd Patterson (who resigned from the New York State Athletic Commission because of his deteriorating memory), Jerry Quarry, Mike Quarry, Wilfredo Benitez, Emile Griffith, Willie Pep, Freddie Roach, Sugar Ray Robinson, and reportedly Meldrick Taylor (although this is a subject of controversy.)

Oscar's going to get handled.... Oscar thinks he's going to be able to go in there and push Mayweather around because he's smaller....

Mayweather is 37-0. The man can box.... his hand speed and footwork will give De La Hoya problems.
