Texans re-signed DE Stanley McClover to an undisclosed contract.
It's probably a one-year deal for the minimum. McClover, only 24, spent 2008 on injured reserve with a torn meniscus. He'll battle for a roster spot.

Fred Taylor Expected To Sign With Pats
Friday, February 27, 2009
Posted By Mike Florio 12:02 AM
Former Jaguars running back Fred Taylor has visited the Bills and the Patriots over the past few days.

According to Shalise Manza Young of the Providence Journal, Taylor is expected to sign with the Patriots.

Both teams have made offers to Taylor, an 11-year veteran who was cut as part of a youth movement.

Taylor will give the Pats considerable depth at tailback, if Laurence Maroney can rebound from shoulder problems that wiped out most of his 2008 season.

Maybe the biggest prize of the free agency period -- defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth -- has agreed to a monster deal with the Washington Redskins, according to a report in The Tennessean.

The reported seven-year, $100 million deal has $41 million in guaranteed money and would make him the highest-paid defensive player. The total value of the contract reportedly could climb to as much as $115 million.

He is expected to be in Washington today for a physical and to put the finishing touches on the contract. The team could introduce him as early as this afternoon.

Haynesworth led the Titans with a career-high 8 1/2 sacks this season. He also had 75 tackles, 22 quarterback pressures, seven tackles for loss and forced a team-high four fumbles.

The Redskins also achieved one of their major offseason goals around the midnight stroke that signaled the start of free agency, agreeing to terms for a six-year, $54 million contract with DeAngelo Hall.

The deal includes $22.5 million in guaranteed money, giving the 25-year-old cornerback his second big payday in as many years. Hall was guaranteed around $24 million in a seven-year, $70 million contract he signed a year ago with Oakland, but he struggled to adjust to the Raiders' man-to-man defense and was waived after eight games.

The Eagles have reportedly signed former Bengals OT Stacy Andrews.
The story was originally broken by Profootballtalk.com, but they appear to be having server issues. Andrews figures to get over $5 million annually. He'll likely start at right tackle, allowing his brother Shawn to stay inside.

The New England Patriots have quickly found a solution to their tight end need, and they didn't even need to leave their own division. The NFL Network reports that the team has agreed on a contract with Chris Baker, who was released by the New York Jets last week.

Baker has shown some flashes as a receiver but was phased out with the emergence of promising rookie tight end Dustin Keller last season.

The Chicago Bears planned to make offensive line a priority this offseason, and have landed their first lineman. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the team has signed former Panthers tackle Frank Omiyale to a four-year deal.

A source told the newspaper that Omiyale's contract is worth between $11.5 and $14 million overall. Omiyale, a backup in Carolina the past two seasons after coming over from Atlanta, started one game in 2008.
