im born and raised in Stockton for over 28 years....i always looked at Modesto like they got money...........i moved to Modesto last summer and i can say that the employment oppertunites over here are damn worse than Stockton.and it dont look like it got money.they got some shit yeah nice neighborhoods over here by Salida but other then that this shit looks poorer than Stockton..........and im not a fan of its title as auto theft capital for damn near all this millenium...........me, my mom, and my sister has had cars stolen in Stockton so hopefully that shit dont follow me here..........

Modesto's a pretty big city, so like anywhere else there are good and bad parts. So it all depends on where you live. This was the Modesto metro area, which includes the whole county.

Ceres ain't bad at all. There are a few bad areas, like El Campo and 10th St, but I would walk through almost any part of Ceres at any time of the day.

The bad parts of Stanislaus County are South Modesto, East Modesto (Airport), West Modesto, Highway Village (In Modesto), Southside Turlock, and a few smaller neighborhoods throughout the other cities.

I would say that overall Stockton is worse as far as crime goes. In Modesto, the southern 1/2 of the city is all bad, and above that it is mostly good with a few bad neighborhoods sprinkled throughout. In Stockton it is just the Far-North side that is good and even there there are some bad areas. But this ranking is based on crime, economy, unemployment, air quality, etc. It's considered the worst place to live.

Even though those other places like Detroit might have higher crime rates n other shit, there is a lot more they are considering than just that.

i basically lived in east side modesto... right off of hatch, and mofett rd.. it aint shit compared to stockton.. on the rill though... i know most of the factor figz out of modesto, as well as turlock...but these niggaz out in stockton dont give a fuck who u iz though...and who u know, and who u hang with cuz they all from the the biggety biggety O... im from there too originally so i cant hate on them... but that is why i'm saying that modesto was all good compared to stockton... cuz i know most of the gangs, and clicks coming up out of there....i guarantee they know who i'm iz out chea!!(talkin bout the mo cuz when it come down to stockton i know a few factor figz... but not that many)rip to my nigga al greenz though....wut up big chill??

they could search all over america or whatever... but what the fuck is a modesto? it could be the most dangerous place or what not, but, who the hell is gonna go visit a modesto? i never been there, and pretty much never will be there for the rest of my life. for the most part, OAKLAND IS the #1 metropolitan area where shit will go down and be reported. im from frisco/sac/norcal.. and time 2 time, oakland somewhere youll have to go for some sort of occasion such as family, court ordered, sideshow, etc. if you soak it all in.. oakland is the trendsetter.

Hey homie, you lived in Ceres! This is one of the safest areas you could have lived in. Eastside is north of the Tuolumne River, and trust me, it's all bad up there too. That would be like me moving to Lodi and then talking about "Stockton ain't bad." West of Richland Ave and north of Hatch Rd is South Modesto, and it's a whole different world out there. I got family that lives off of Moffett Rd north and south of Hatch Rd. If you try to compare this area to the Eastside (Airport District or Eastside hoods) that's like comparing Elk Grove to South Sacramento.
