Man y'all sound like your parents when you were teenagers. Remember if you are in your 30's you prolly shouldn't be listening to or enjoying what teenagers and young adults are making. IT'S NOT FOR YOU!!!!!

unless the genre is making money, I tend to agree with the OP.

fans have outgrown the lyrics containing drug and gun violence. especially if your life has been touched by such things.

my two cents.

I tend to disagree. This isn't the 50's where parents fought against Rock & Roll or the 80's to 90's where parents fought against Gangsta Rap. The whole music industry is hurting right now. Music is officially garbage today. Yet, far & few in between comes a good song. And I'll vouch for it myself like many & say, "As much as I can't stand this, his, her, music, that's a cool song." ...so no, it's not about the movements nor age.

I mean damn! There are actual people in corporate "Hollywood" today that are considered celebrities for doing absolutely nothing. Yet, a lot of people raise the question, "What are you actually famous for?"

From the bottom to the top / top to the the bottom, the whole industry has become a mockery and a joke.

there's still a million artists that rap about gangsta ass shit over gangsta ass beats, fuck you talkin bout? as long as gangsta shit actually happens in real life, mobb music will continue to be made and sold to people who have mostly never even come close to living a gangsta lifestyle. so dont get your panties in a bunch.

but if youre really that stuck in the 90s and have a problem with artists evolving creatively and adapting to the times, and if youre really that close-minded where you cant stand to listen to anything else, then just keeping buying old CDs from the 90s, look for new mobb music when it comes out, and shut the fuck up.

(Disclaimer: i was raised on Bay Area mobb shit, btw. The only thing I really miss about that area are the styles of beats)

LOL! Easy there ya big ol' killa!

Now, open your mind up and realize that if we all agreed.. there would be no Siccness and it'd be quite boring wouldn't it.

And yes, I still say the new shit sucks, so what!

yeah that shit aint nothing nice and nothing to glorify and i think a high perecentage of gangsta rap fans have a hard time realizing that. not to mention the majority of gangsta rappers aint done half the shit they talk about in their lyrics.

then i would say youre probably not looking hard enough to find new music you'd enjoy. cuz believe me, its out there. im just sayin tho.

Naw, seriously though: There is a lot of mobb music etc, but it's just not as good anymore IMO. Perhaps it's all been said and done & a lot of it feels like it's exaggerated. It seems to be more focused on how hard people are in the street, rather than bringing that energy into the "music" itself.

I will say I feel "Sick Wit It" dominated the Mobb music era, but even since have changed.

i still think livewire is puttin out that mobb music. not every single track they make is, but alotta the shit they puttin out is keepin it alive. & regardless, they're one of the few camps i've seen thats got a plethora of talent @ their disposal. distinct voices & talents to call upon, in this new age. thats something thats rare to me.

apt3 still doin it too. i'm not feelin the horrorcore artists they throw in there (minus the brotha lynch hung), but otherwise they've done a great job.

The difference now is there are 50,000 bay area artist as opposed to 100 in the 90's. There are just as many if not more good artist out here today. There's just 48,789 bad artist. You gotta weed out the bullshit not just say that there's no good mobb music anymore.

I agree, but that's not just in the Bay. It's everywhere & every reign. And yes, it's a serious problem in the underground scene. Actual talent is lost & buried in so much garbage.
