It's getting increasingly difficult to ignore these Arabs, isn't it?

$110 MILLION For Floyd To Fight Manny

A consortium from the United Arab Emirates is reportedly willing to give Floyd Mayweather a guaranteed $110 million to fight Manny Pacquiao.

Promoter M. Akbar Muhammad said the group is trying to pull out all the stops to make the superfight happen.

"The funding is in place, and because of this and the group’s unique and distinctive make-up and backgrounds, it has emerged as the leading and most serious group striving to secure the bout," Muhammad told boxingscene.com.

According to Muhammad, the fight need not be held in the UAE. "We want to be a part of Mr. Mayweather’s historic march to 50-0, no matter where the fights may take place," he said.

Pacquiao, for his part, won't be getting chump change in the deal either, according to Muhammad, a former Top Rank executive.

"There’s absolutely no doubt that each fighter, individually, will receive more money than any other boxer has in the past. The combined purses are approaching $200 million. And, rest assured, we have the resources to do just that."

Talks of a fight between the two most iconic fighters of their generation have been on-and-off for years, repeatedly breaking down due to demands from Mayweather. But top American television executives are reportedly involved in brokering the deal, giving boxing fans fresh hope that it would finally push through. — JST, GMA News

so if they took the Arabs money, Floyd would make $110 million and Pacquiao about $80 million or somethin.

Mayweather-Pacquiao: UAE Group Releases More Details

Abu Dhabi is the site of the proposed record-setting Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Manny Pacquiao bout scheduled for the first half of 2015.

“Let there be no question nor confusion about the location of the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight,” said M. Akbar Muhammad, a long-time boxing executive and one of the principals of the Abu Dhabi-based investment group which is funding the week-long event.* “It will be Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.”

The event also will serve as a tribute to Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the late Emir of Abu Dhabi and the first president of the United Arab Emirates, on the 10th anniversary of his passing, said Muhammad.

Muhammad said he is offering additional specifics as a result of considerable attention and conjecture by international media as well as the boxing industry.

“After we announced the record purse offer of $110 million to Floyd Mayweather and Mayweather Promotions last week, speculation as to the location started,” said Muhammad.

“Some members of the media said the fight would be, for instance, in Dubai,” said Muhammad.* “That is 100 percent incorrect.* Abu Dhabi is and always has been the one and only site for this event.”

The investment group, which Muhammad says is prepared to offer combined purses to Mayweather and Pacquaio of almost $200 million, is comprised of individuals from Abu Dhbai.*

In addition to receiving a record-setting purse, Mayweather Promotions, LLC will be the lead promoter of the event and a partner with the investment group; it also can be the promoter of other boxing cards in the UAE, said Muhammad.

“The Abu Dhabi group a most serious and capable investment entity in the sport of boxing,” said Muhammad.* “It is ready, willing and able to fund to the extent necessary to turn the theory of a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight into reality,” said Muhammad.

“Thus, my instructions remain the same: do whatever it takes to bring this long-awaited and eagerly anticipated fight across the line,” said Muhammad.

Muhammad, president and chief operating officer of Akbar Productions, LLC of New Jersey, has extensive experience in all phases of boxing.* He has managed five professional world champions; guided two Olympic gold medalists; and produced world championship, internationally televised boxing cards in more than one dozen countries.

Like when you said Floyd wasn't going to fight Canelo, then Floyd said catchweight plus other estrictions, he said okay I'm down.
I never said he wouldnt fight anyone. I once said Canelo was bigger than Floyd but Floyd stepped up and fought him anyway and made him look like loose change lol. Got Em!!

Right now, more people think the fight WILL happen than any of the other selections on the poll for this thread. That's crazy to me.

I hope it does and I hope it happens next. They could fight twice this year and cash out and retire.

STOOOP IIIT! Even Floyd said there was no reason to fight Canelo, he wasn't a proven fighter, and you agreed.
I didnt agree that he wasnt proven? I always said you have to bring sumthin to the table if you want to fight Floyd. Canelo is the biggest Mexican boxer currently and we all knew how much money the fight would bring. I just said he was to big but Floyd wasnt trippin off that and Canelo still came in 20 pounds heavier than Floyd on fight night lol. Got Em!!

Mayweather, Haymon and Espinoza Given Ultimatums by CBS

This is blockbuster news, ring observers.

A well-connected source has told me today that CBS boss Les Moonves wants the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather superfight to become reality next year. No ifs ands or buts about it. Word is Moonves has told Showtime sports boss Stephen Espinoza to make the fight happen "or else."

Meaning that Espinoza will be on the street if he does not, and Haymon and Mayweather can say goodbye to any Showtime dates in the future, and that includes Haymon's stable of fighters and also the fighters who box for Mayweather Promotions.

And it makes perfect, logical sense. Haymon and Mayweather don't call the shots, Les Moonves does.

Moonves is said to be uncomfortable with the idea of televising two more Mayweather "fights" against set up handpicked opponents because those events will be certain money losers, just like Mayweather's last two fights, and three of the last four (not counting Saul Alvarez which was profitable).

So there you have it, according to my reliable and connected source, the pressure on Mayweather and Haymon is now at an all time high. They are caught in the vice and it's closing fast. And the only way out now is to agree to finally...FINALLY...fight Manny Pacquiao.

Even Floyd's uncle and father are saying in public, Floyd should fight Pacquiao next.

Well it looks like Mayweather and Haymon knew this was going to happen, hence the "NBC deal." The fight is not gonna happen, but a fight with Khan in Barclays or UK can make money before Cinco de Mayo so he's gonna be okay financially anyways.
