My nephew just joined the Marines about a month ago. He wrote me his first letter saying the drill instructor was up in his face yelling shit. And he could actually feel sprinkles of spit on his face as he was being grilled. He said that everytime he answered "YES SIR!", he'd spit back on purpose in the drill instructor's face LOL!!!!!
my cousin joined too.....he figured he had nothing going for him here so thought what the heck.....weird thing is he talks about how much he hates it. and how they treat him like dog shit, but at the same time hes so immersed in it that he kinda loves it (he doesnt say he loves it, but he loves talking about it and shit so its like he kind of does) and plans on reinlisting

yeah everyone in their first year or so gets treated like shit...but once you pick up rank and time you end up liking it cause you got more resposibility and trust etc and the more junior marines are under your watch
i can never be in the marines . i cant take orders fullstop . imagine some fat prick yelling at you , dudes breath prolly smells like shit aswell ..... fuhk that .
the respect i have for marines is there fuhking fitness levels . i wish i had there stamina and endurance
oh no, someone yelling? what a shame...what happened to the good old days of corpral punishment, when the drill instruct could beat the ever loving shit out of you if they felt the need, we need another vietnam.....got dammit....

It actually doesn't phase some people. My nephew is like whatever about it. He says there are moments, but he was mentally prepared for it prior to joining. Like SC_408 said, it's only for the for the first year, but once you build rank, you cool.
From what I understand about Marine boot camp is they break them down to nothing, then build them up with the "I am a Marine and no one can fuck with me" attitude. My ship has 1500+ marines on it when we are deployed and most of them think like that. They still respect the rank and know their role but think they are untouchable. Navy boot camp is much different.

yeah crazy how psychological that whole system is. pretty sad and wrong. brainwashings not cool especially when considering the motive behind military brainwashing
