Foo, when the homeboys in Prison were fighting the BGFs in the Pen, that shit didn't spill out on the streets. Blacks there grew up with Mexicans, still were friends and like brothers. When chicanos from So Cal, Border Brothers and Surenos starting beefing with Blacks, it got more violent in the streets then it already was. Bottom line, there's no denying that there is tension up north, but compared to so cal, is it everyday on the news? In my town you'll see blacks posted up with Hella mexicans, on almost lots of blocks, depending from which side of Stockton you're on. In the south side, the side with lots of history for the "colored" people, blacks, mexicanos, filipinos, and the new asians that came here in the 70s can all coexist because they can relate to their history.
In the west, blacks and Mexicans are like brothers. Bloods, and Nortenos, and non-gangbangers, just a bunch of westsiders connected. In the East and North, is where most of the tension is, but I aint going to even touch on those.
If anyone is riding this "black thing" which I don't know which you are referring to this "black thing" majority of chicanos in ESO, and the Acorns up in Oakland be going dumb and shit. Again, don't point fingers, and say well there's tension here and there as if you speak for the rest of us.
