I love whats going on.... The team is def. not siding with Porter... Heres some of the stuff some said of him
Gallery said "Great athlete but we have others ready to take his place that are very capable.
Art isn't going to take any bullsh!t, If he (Porter) doesn't like it, he can go"
Sapp said ""One guy is not gonna break down what we got going here. If he doesn't want
to march with us then he can go somewhere else, cause we don't need him."
also laughed about the fact that Porter just got a big contract so his problem must be he wants the attention
Jerry Rice also added that when he worked with Porter he thought he knew everything and didn't care to learn from him and that Tim Brown said it was the same back in 2000
Oakland Raiders DT Warren Sapp spoke about WR Jerry Porter's ongoing holdout from training camp and trade demands during an interview on SIRIUS NFL Radio. Sapp said that the team does not feel obligated to pull him aside and advise him to come into camp. "People talk about football being a family. It's not a family. It's a brotherhood of men," said Sapp. "Because in a family, if the baby is lagging behind everybody stops and waits for the baby to catch up. We can't wait for the baby to catch up. We gotta go. This thing's coming and when it's coming it is coming full speed ahead and we want to be ready to go with what we got. And if he's not gonna be a part of what we got going then some kind of way we've got to find a way to make him happy. Trade him or whatever he wants because you can't have a malcontent on a team where on Sunday we're gonna be looking for you to make plays."
Raiders | Shell a leader
Sun, 30 Jul 2006 15:00:20 -0700
Josh Dubow, of The Associated Press, reports new Oakland Raiders head coach Art Shell has quickly earned the respect of his players during training camp, and has brought a different level of credibility than his predecessors, Norv Turner and Bill Callahan. "We have a leader here now," DL Bobby Hamilton said. "I'm going to keep saying leader. That's what he is. He's a good coach, he played the game well. He's in the Hall of Fame. If you can't go by that, there's something wrong with you. You need to be out of here."
If Porter doesn't get his act together,, I wouldn't be suprised if coach Shell benches him like Gruden did
