ok so sounds like its a stage 1 tear/sprain, because there was no swelling. Basically this means
Grade 1 symptoms:

•Mild tenderness on the inside of the knee over the ligament.
•Usually no swelling.
•When the knee is bent to 30 degrees and an outward force applied to the lower leg to stress the medial ligament, pain is felt but there is no joint laxity (looseness)

so was there pain? sure, anything most NFL players couldnt play through???? hmmmmmmmmmm

Bears were a fluke this year. Protected by their defense.

The refs pretty much HANDED Chicago two games this year that helped them get to where they did.

For every good throw Cutler made on a scramble this season, he has an interception.

There's always next year Chicago!

oh wait... y'all aren't even gonna be able to compete in the division!

Everyone has a different tolerance for pain. And maybe he didn't feel comfortable planting on it...who knows?

I've seen him get blasted quite a few times this year so I just have a hard time believing he would just suddenly quit in a championship game.

oh yeah because the vikings will be so good and detroit. I'm sure the packers will be at the top but there isn't any reason bears can't be good next year if they stay healthy.

Bottom line is this was Cutler's first year with Mike Martz. Mike Martz first year with da bears. Mike Tice' first year with da bears. No one predicted they would win the division and make it to the NFC championship game this year so they exceeded the expectations for 2010. They add a few more parts (beef up the o-line, add a receiver or two) and they are a better team next year than this year.

I'd like to see some of you couch potato ass critics go out on that field with a fucked up knee and get chased down by 300lb men who's main job is to knock your head off. Its easy to call someone a pussy or a quitter when your sitting comfortable behind a keyboard.

The Lions will compete next year for a divisional title as LONG as they stay healthy. All those top 5 draft picks are FINALLY paying off.

Cutler has a history of being a baby. Injury or not, he is NOT going to get a fucking break. And for the guy crying about people sitting behind keyboards... I'm not a professional football player, I work on electronics. I've been shocked a bunch of times, I didnt quit. I know thats not the same, but I made $42k a year doing it. Hes gets millions, fuck your bitch ass knee, duct tape that mother fucker and throw the ball.

Don't know to much about Cutler or anything but, would you rather try to hide the fact that your knee is fucked in a game and risk having it damaged more to the point where it may affect your CAREER as a whole, just to win a game and impress everyone, or would you play smart, sit out ONE GAME and just have your knee heal and be able to work for a the upcoming seasons healthy?

we dont get paid 10 million a year and had 3 first round drafts picks traded for us. If i was getting that kinda a bread i would stand out their and let 400lb cats get free hits on me for that kinda money!

I'm not questioning the toughness of his knee...Im questioning his mental toughness. Was he too scared to play on the knee? Was it buggin him so much he was afraid of playing badly? Who knows, nobody but Jay I guess.

He got the injury at the end of the 2nd, at half time the doctors told him he shouldn't return, Cutler insisted he give it a go which he did, couldn't plant his leg and he threw an incomplete pass they went three and out and lovie pulled him.
