yeah you already said that. So you think Cutler is faking then right?
I think the whole Bear organization is faking.... he was able to walk the sidelines, ride the stationary bike, etc....

Brett Favre and Donovan McNabb played on broken ankles.

Rivers played on a completely torn ACL.

Brees just admitted that he played on a torn MCL this season.

I'm just saying....

I usually don't agree with Jason Whitlock but I agree with this:

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/why-jay-cutler-quitting-on-chicago-bears-makes-us-so-livid-012411

Maybe now the LeBron James sycophants will quit playing the race card.

Maybe now they’ll accept the visceral, instantaneous and emotional rejection of their King in the aftermath of The Decision was primarily a confluence of factors that had little to do with race.

Social media, our cultural, unhealthy obsession with sports and the thin line between our love and hate for spoiled, clueless millionaire athletes led to the widespread loathing of LeBron.

The same thing happened to Jay Cutler on Sunday.

In the biggest game of his career, shortly after playing 30 minutes of awful football, Cutler laid down on the Bears and the city of Chicago. Hiding behind a knee injury, he tapped out in much the same way LeBron James tapped out with an elbow injury against the Celtics during last year’s playoffs.

I’m sorry. I don’t need an MRI to confirm King Cutler quit.

FOX cameras provided all the evidence I need.

Cutler suffered a knee injury, not a head injury. The only reason Cutler spent the second half of the NFC Championship bundled up on the Chicago sideline looking like an aloof, uninvolved punter was because he mentally checked out.

You do remember King James staring off into space as Mike Brown tried to coach the Cavs late in the Celtics series?

To their credit -- and perhaps their cowardice -- Cavaliers fans didn’t turn on their King until he hosted a rub-their-noses-in-it TV special celebrating his betrayal of his home-state team.

Imagine the reaction in Chicago if Cutler makes the slightest public-relations slip between now and when Bears’ doctors reveal Cutler may never walk again. You think LeBron is despised? Let the wrong syllable come out of Cutler’s mouth and President Obama won’t be able to rehabilitate Cutler’s reputation.

Despite all their strong words defending Cutler, I bet you couldn’t pay Brian Urlacher and Lovie Smith to start Cutler’s car for the next month. Cutler is the new Steve Bartman, the interfering Cubs fan.

For the record, Cutler is white and so are the overwhelming majority of Bears fans.

In this era of 24-hour news, Internet anonymity and blogging, public sentiment can turn vicious rather quickly regardless of your race.

Within minutes of the conclusion of Green Bay’s 21-14 victory, a picture of Chicago fans burning a Cutler jersey showed up on my Twitter feed. Fans started pointing out that Tom Brady played all season needing surgery on his foot, Willis Reed limped through Game 7 of the NBA Finals with a torn muscle in his thigh, Ronnie Lott cut off a piece of his finger to play, etc.

Fans were irate.

Worse was the reaction of Cutler’s NFL peers. Current and former players trashed Cutler on Twitter and on TV.

The backlash against Cutler overshadowed the Packers’ victory and drove discussion all Monday.

Football is the ultimate gladiator sport. It’s a PED sport. Right or wrong, the culture dictates that you inject yourself with whatever is necessary to play. You gut it out on a bad knee, hope that you do no further damage and deal with the consequences the next day and for the rest of your life.

My right knee hurts as I’m writing this. I played my last season at Ball State with a torn ACL. My 160-pound roommate played most of the season with a serious neck injury. Yeah, we were naive, stupid and probably exploited.

I’d do it again. And knowing what I know now, I’d probably come back and play my fifth year. If they gave me a $50 million contract and Todd Collins was my backup, you’d have to fight me to get me off the field in the NFC Championship.

Deion Sanders roasted Cutler on the NFL Network. Michael Irvin sang in Deion’s choir.

Cutler’s defenders miss the point. No one is really questioning Cutler’s toughness. We know he took a beating this season behind a leaky offensive line.

We’re questioning Cutler’s love of the game. A quarterback, a leader, has to love the game.

On Sunday, Cutler carried himself like someone who plays football primarily because he was born with the gift and the job pays well. It turned us off. It upset us.

No matter your football resume -- high school hero, college scrub, retired Super Bowl champion -- if you love the game, you would’ve given anything to be in Cutler’s shoes on Sunday. And you believe you would’ve handled the situation differently.

It’s that exact same belief -- not race -- that drove you to loathe LeBron

There have also been guys who never played again because of MCL injuries tony.

Every injury is different and every situation is different.

Maybe it had to do with the fact Cutler got injured late in the 2nd, they confirmed the injury at half time, he gave it a go in the 3rd and couldn't perform so that's it. Not sure what else you're looking for

It's not just me 206.... I was rooting for the Bears just like you were....

But what's real is real. You've gotten on LeBron before and now it's time to keep it real and get on Cutler. He mentally checked out, dog.... over throwing Hester, then when the Bears picked off Rodgers, he (Cutler) threw a pick on the next damn play.

Maybe he was really hurt by the MCL sprain but other qb's have played with injuries that were worse with less on the line. Peep the article by Whitlock, and I usually don't agree with what dude has to say.

Taken from the article just to shorten things up.....

There are people on both sides though and more importantly, everyone on da bears are defending cutler. If that wasn't the case I'd understand.

But what's real is real. You've gotten on LeBron before and now it's time to keep it real and get on Cutler.
when the fuck did I ever get on LeBron about an injury? I made fun of LeBron for going to Miami and losing.

He mentally checked out, dog.... over throwing Hester, then when the Bears picked off Rodgers, he (Cutler) threw a pick on the next damn play.
So what? John Elway over threw every fucking pass in the super loss 55-10. Rich Gannon had one of the most epic seasons ever only to have one of the worst games in the history of the NFL in the superbowl in the Raiders loss to Tampa. Guys play bad. That's going to happen. Happens to great QB's, happens to good QB's and it happens to bad ones too. I have no problem if Cutler had a bad game or not. Shit happens.

What were discussing is the injury. If lovie smith and the doctors pulled him after Cutler gave it a go in the 3rd quarter, what more do you want?

Maybe he was really hurt by the MCL sprain but other qb's have played with injuries that were worse with less on the line. Peep the article by Whitlock, and I usually don't agree with what dude has to say.
And others have came out on less. Like I said Matt Hassleback jogged to the endzone BY HIMSELF with no one even close to him for a 1 yard TD and he injured himself somehow, missed the rest of the game and the following week when the playoffs were on the line. But it's matt fucking hassleback so no one cared. Deon Sanders missed about 2 seasons due to turf toe. MDJ missed the last two games of the season when the playoffs were on the line. Where is the outrage?

Again, Cutler isn't liked, his personality makes it seem like he's an asshole and he doesn't care, therefor people don't like him. That's the difference. If Cutler was some super nice guy that was fun to be around and everyone loved him this would NOT be an issue I promise you.

Jay Cutler quit, period....

When Matt Hassleback got injured he was running into the end zone. He wasn't playing like doo-doo before he got hurt so why compare?

John Elway overthrew every pass in the SB huh.... but did he quit on his team and say his MCL was sprained?

How about Brett's gutsy performance in last years NFC Championship game? He needed surgery on the ankle anyway but the way he got beat up made it worse. He still finished the game like a soldier.

Rich Gannon sucked in the SuperBowl but did he quit on the Raiders?

Off subject, but I read that Evander Holyfield quit in his last fight and when has he ever quit? Looks like he did because he got cut and told the doctor that he couldn't continue. We know damn well Holyfield would never quit in a fight unless he's just too old.

making excuses for Holyfield huh? So Holyfield quit cuz he's too old, but Cutler quit because you're a doctor and you were on the sideline and know the extent of the injury? Oh you don't? then your opinion is no better then turf toe deon sanders.

Thanks for listing examples of toughness. I already did that. Ronnie Lott had his damn finger amputated. Doesn't get any tougher than that. There will always be stories of people showing crazy heart. But at the end of the day, Lovie PULLED Cutler because of his injury, because he couldn't plant his throwing leg. Again, I don't know what you wanted cutler to do here, he got hurt, he tried to go back in the game which he did, then he got yanked.

I'm not making excuses for Holyfield, I brought that point up because when has he ever quit? Some felt that he could/should have continued even though he had a cut over his eye. Those who were at ringside said that Holyfield began to look uninterested in the fight as his opponent started to land huge right hands. So Holyfield used the cut over his eye to quit and then the fight was called a no contest.

Same principal with Cutler, he quit. The Bears had no points when he was taken out of the game. No points....

You can walk and ride a bike with a torn mcl...so I don't see what that has to do with anything. Walking and playing football are two different things.

Every injury is different and it affects people differently...even Brees stated that in the article you posted.

That being said...let's say he COULD have played if he somehow LOVED the game as much as say Favre, Brees or Rivers.

So fuckin' what if he doesn't LOVE the game as much as them. This is a GAME.

There is no love requirement for playing football. You get paid to do a job...not to risk walking or getting brain damage. If others want to do it...more power to them...but I don't hold it against them if they feel like their long term health is better than possibly winning a football game.

Pouncy for the Steelers got hurt and didn't play anymore...nobody is saying anything about him. What about that?

Huh, no love requirement for playing football? I see why you're not bothered about Cutler possibly quiting. Love for the game is what seperates the greats from the fakes. Someone that loves the game would've finished. Someone that doesn't would of rode the bike on the sidelines like he was going to come back in. T.O. put his career on the line for the Eagles by coming back early to play against the Patriots in the SB.

Yeah I agree they're getting paid, but at the sametime they're risking their health which includes walking and brain damage. That's why they have injury clauses in their contracts.

I think they're faking it like Cutler was/is really injured but I think he was yanked due to his poor performance and the Bears just don't want to admit it.

I don't think anyone was ever picturing Cutler as a GREAT football player.

he looked like he got hurt to me at the end of the second, he was clearly in pain after one of the last series. You don't remember that? They showed him bending over, wincing in pain
