It would seem like McKenzie, being what look's like a smart gm, will want to change that whole cap situation entirely so the Raiders won't have to go through that whole fiasco every season. Those days should be left in the past.
I've defended the pick trading in the past but that is one thing I've always thought was stupid.
Mortgaging the future only works when you win. 8-8 and the Tebows winning the West is not getting it done.

The defense was terrible all season long. They corners don't even bump the receivers anymore.
This season was a waste. I hope RM guts the fucking team and sends a message that this isn't the fucking Seahawks. We're supposed to win..
At least we're in for another interesting offseason.

Hue Jackson

“When I think back on it, I think I’m being blamed, and have been blamed, for [all of that],” Jackson said. “What gets me is, I know [Bengals owner] Mike Brown and I know Carson Palmer, but I didn’t make the trade. That decision came from above. It involved draft picks and money. But it wasn’t my call.

“I’m tired of people saying that I’m power hungry, that I’m a blowhard, that I’m saying all the wrong things. I never said I wanted to be the general manager. I said I wanted input. What coach wouldn’t want some input in the direction of the organization?

“When I said I wanted to play a greater role, what I meant by that was, I’m going to get a defensive coordinator that I want. I’m going to get the staff members that I want. And the players that weren’t playing well aren’t gonna be here.

“Before, I didn’t have a chance in all of those things. Everybody knows my hands were tied – I worked for Al Davis. He ran the defense, always had. It’s part of the job.”

Jackson’s emotional reaction to the Chargers defeat, in which Oakland set single-season marks for penalties and penalty yards, was intensified by his sense of its implications.

“We were playing for a championship, for a winning season, for Mr. Davis,” Jackson said, referring to the late owner’s memory. “We’re playing for the trade, let’s face it. Winning that game would have justified everything.

“I knew what was on the line. I’m not stupid. That’s what was coming out of me at that press conference.”

Houshmandzadeh believed Jackson’s postgame comments were a sign of the coach’s devotion to the cause.

“I guess in the world of NFL head coaches, you can’t do that, apparently,” Houshmandzadeh said. “I don’t know, maybe he was emotional because he was invested in it, and in us – because he was two feet in. A lot of coaches would have been politically correct. He put his emotions out there.

“He had a great grasp on the guys. If you weren’t playing well, he would let you know, and say, ‘We need you to play better.’ If you were playing well, he’d let you know. With me seeing Hue for the first time as a head coach – and Carson and I talked about this – I thought, ‘Wow, Hue does a good job of addressing things in meetings that needed to be addressed.’”

Palmer did not return telephone or text messages Tuesday.

When he hires a coach, that coach will then hire his own coordinators. Weirdos. McKenzies a good hire he worked under Ted Thompson and Ron Wolf. And Hue getting fired had nothing to do with his post game comments or the terrible trade. When a GM takes over a mess like this he brings in his own guys. The Raiders have been run poorly for so long. Al Davis was a cool dude but he was senial as fuck and made some of the dumbest moves ever in the last few years. He thought you could trade high draft picks for old turds and turn a team around instantly. Reggies definitley gonna build through the draft, that's the Ted Thompson way and he just assisted that to perfection. Hiring him is the best move the Raiders made in like 10 years.

Raiders fans your time will come.. I believe this was a good move by the new GM.. clean house and start fresh.. you guys got a good GM to turn shit around, the next coach will be a good one. Look at his track record with the packers.
The Raiders haven't started fresh until I get to see a pay per view boxing match between Carson Palmer and a female kangaroo. Until then, fuck this

I dont understand how people can write Pryor off after seeing what Tebow is doing...We have not even seen Pryor in NFL action yet...

so Hue Jackson pretty much air'd out tha truth.. Al was defensive coordinator, ran everything, etc... so basically he was putting up a "front" while Davis was alive jus to be employed as an HC... cant blame him tho, a coach should always have control... Hue did tha job on his side (offense) while our defense fucked us over, which was ran by Mr. Davis *R.I.P.* and Bresh.. ya Hue mighta said comments a lil wrong after that last game, but obviously his emotions got tha best of him.. he wanted to see his team in tha playoffs and our defense couldn't deliver! he was pissed off, when he made that comment changes will be made from defense, special teams, etc... he obviously was talkin about bringing in his own coaches! but whatever time to move on..

Exactly. Imagine Tebow on the raiders, we would only win a couple games all year
I still say an Orton led broncos team all season wouldnt have own them tha afc west.. I seriously thought donkeys would finish last place.. insert Tebow and fuck winning streak occurs.. props to their D tho.. but I dont see them being this successful had they stuck with Orton all year

Would you want Tebow as the raiders starting qb?
