This is a tough one for me. I tend to believe in ghosts, but not because I personally have had any experiences. However, there are soooo many people that have, and so many documented incidences, that I find it hard to just dismiss it.

The implications of some kind of afterlife are enormous.

I'd be interested to see if any people here have had any experiences. And, I'm not talking about a friend, I'm talking about you personally.

Any of you ever had any experience dealing with any of the above?
No

Do you think they exist on earth?
No

I have a friend who sees them often. Sometimes they try to talk to her.
She should probably seek psychiatric help as soon as possible. Sounds likely she's suffering from schizophrenia, which causes hallucinations and delusions.

it's not something you choose, it just is.
Yeah, well certain groups of society or cultures are more likely to "see" "ghosts" as well, keep that in mind. Like my Cambodian friends and their families are all very superstitious people - a door shuts out of nowhere, it's a ghost. Someone trips on the way to the kitchen, the ghost is angry. Baby farts, yep it was the ghost. All of them swear up and down they've seen ghosts and have some outrageous stories to tell.

There is a school in Seattle that is haunted. Go there on any Friday night and you'll see spooked out Asian guys and their girlfriends running from ghosts. I went there once with some friends (mostly asian people) when I was a teenager and everyone saw a ghost and started running. How come I was the only one that didn't see anything and I'm lookin at the same place they were? lol, it's in the mind that's why.

Being an Atheist my entire thinking life and I've never had any supernatural experiences that my theist counterparts do. Why is that? it's because when something strange happens to me, my brain interprets it logically and rationally, whereas other people associate the unknown with supernatural phenomenon.

fair explanation.

how do you explain love?
Uh, what? I'm confused as to how love is related to the topic.

Well to answer your question, and trying not to sound all dorky, there is a biological explanation for love that has to do with increasing the chances of survival of the offspring (i.e, the chances are greater when there is a couple raising/protecting the child, etc.). The purpose of love was to surve this very simple function (finding a suitable mate and survival of offspring). It has evolved to be that way and in fact, many human emotions including love are shared by other social mammals, some emotions are more developed compared to other mammals and vice versa.

All emotions can be explained scientifically and serve some sort of purpose (jealously is closely linked to love, etc.).

Some cases are bogus, I think other cases where people REALLY see shit is an over production of DMT in the Pineal Gland right in the center of the brain which causes hallucinations...

I read a great book that compared the similarities of shaman spirits, celtic elves/fairies, and modern day alien abductions. They are all really one and the same...

I'm not an Atheist, but I see the world in a similar way. What do you do for a living, 2-0-Sixx?

My wife believes in ghosts and says she has had first hand experience. I'm open to the possibility, but until I need more definite proof than what is available.

I believe in demons.. ghosts. because I have seen them.

When I used to mess with black magick ... a lot .. damm I had demons around me.. all the time.. ...

You will know when a demon is around you.. if you don't see it.. you can feel their pressence and power...

Same thing with angelic beings... when one of them passes by you ... you feel energized...

Magick.. the power of will.. and spirits.. is very powerful...

things like mind control, hypnosis , brain washing.. are all forms of black magick...
and when you watch the mainstream media.. or TV... you're being manipulated.. and brainwashed without knowing it....

but you have to submit to it... but it's easy to control someone's mind.. when they don't even know you're manipulating them...

Ghosts.. and demons... are all around.. if you live in a haunted house.. you will know.

But I bet all these athiest on here.. who think demons aren't real.

would NEVER go into a ceremonial magick ritual... and then wait to see a demon manifest. and then speak to them...

I remember a story my friend told me.. who is a magicakan....

his friend said the same thing.. that demons.. and magick is fake and bullshit...

then he told him? You wanna go into my ritual room and see?

his friend said yes... the demon manifested.. and spoke.. the guy who said.. that shit was fake.. ran and screamed like a bitch! since then.. he never questioned. the power of demons and magick...

but it's better you don't believe in demons.. or magick...

once you get into that shit.. it can take over your life.. and you can die..

this is my view on the matter.. I think to be a true master. you need to learn about the dark spiritual side.. as well and the good side....
