We were supposed to get Jam of the week, but R.Kelly and Usher beat us out. It's hard to compete with those guys. It will also be premiering on MTV 2, U, and maybe Direct Efx next week. The Single gotta get more air play around the country for it to make the count down. Thanks yall for all the support. Wait till yall hear the remix in the next two weeks, it's crazy. Im not gonna even tell u whose on it, but it's crazy! check out myspace/kafani1 for any new updates.

Kafani "Money's My Motivation" instores 8/28/07
Kafani "The Nascar Car Ryda" mixtapes available on myspace in July!!!!!!!!!

I think that song is hot. As a grown-ass-man, I've acquired the taste of the music the youngin's feelin, except 95% of Thizz releases. Anyway, here's a question.

WILL THIS VIDEO BE BANNED BECAUSE OF THE NASCAR REFERENCES, JUST LIKE THE VANS SONG & GHOSTRIDE IT WAS BANNED FROM THE TV?
I mean even the logo looks like it could possibly be up for litigation. If no one answers this, I'm going to make a poll about it, LOL!

The bay seems to make songs about sh!t that may be copyrighted. =)

i can't believe people actually like this song. the beat, lyrics, hook...all of it is so corny and amateur sounding. no originality whatsoever.
lets just be supportive of what comes out the bay....the song wasn't specifically made to please you personally. it was made to please the general public and everyone has different taste in music.

So even if we hate the song and think its hot garbage we should support some cat we don't even know personally? I refuse to support trash because a person is from the same geographical location. What part of the game is that?Don't nobody owe these doods nothing. Maybe if we stopped supporting garbage better shit would come out.

I don't know why Atlantic didn't stick up for FAB though. Legally, it seems they would have a leg to stand. On its a parody, and you have legal rights to do those. I think the real reason is that Columbia/Sony punked MTV.

really? everyone has different taste?

as an artist living in the Bay, I feel obligated to NOT support this kind of music making its way to the mainstream. Since so few artists from the Bay get any shine, the rest of the world gets the impression that songs like "Fasst" and "Vans" are accurate representations of what we do out here. When, in reality, those are novelty songs based on catch phrases and fads that will soon fade away. We have a lot of talented artists out here that could really become factors in the game. However, by supporting anything Bay related (no matter how bad it is) we're sending the message to the industry that we are just mindless groupies who don't even care about the music. We lose credibility that way and it only hurts the talented musicians. so I think we should be very picky about who throw our support behind.
Totally agree, just a few points I'd like to add. The music industry has a history of artists and songs making it because they are a novelty or a fad. The way artists are able to make it is because they create a song or "look" that is commercially acceptable. Your point in regards to talent is well taken, unfortunately the biggest market (teen females) don't give a shit about that. They want the bubblegum, they want the singing hooks, the extremely generic melody. I support that song cause I like it not cause he from the Bay. If that was the case, I would be supporting Nump, Federation, and 75% of all the Bay Area acts. We have to stop confusing artists that are going after the commercial fame and the ones that aren't. As much as mothafukas hate on Hammer, that dude did it. Biggest selling artist in the BAYs HISTORY PERIOD! Was people hating that we were going to be known as dancers with huge pants, NO! Let's just let people do what they do and support it if you want. It would be stupid to support something you don't ummm.......SUPPORT! C'mon you groupies get off everyone's dick and think for yourself.

That shit was kinda lame, I can picture lil sis and my brothers liking that shit though.

My question which may be slightly off topic is why arent the more talented rappers in the bay get any shine on MTV? This song is catchy but I dont think this is the shit we should be pushin out to represent the Bay Area we have way better shit out than this that has came out this year

MTV and mainstream raps fans don't care about talent, they care about what can make them dance. Funny tho I heard some bitch on the bus one day say something like "That nigga Young Joc be spittin some heat tho" sad I had no speakers.
