from the looks of it,it doesnt look like italy is gonna leave the group stages, both teams look even, but italy have wasted way too many chances

on a side note, whats the universal language that the refs speak with players?english/french/spanish?and what about players,do the french speak to the italians in french and the italians back in italian or what

I'm sure most European players and refs speak several languages. I would imagine the two biggest to be Spanish and English though. I know Zidane could speak like five or six languages or some shit like that!

I know in Real Madrid, when all those stars were there from Brazil, France, etc., they spoke Spanish to eachother. Everyone probably just finds some sort of common ground.

I've wondered about the language factor plenty of times, but soccer is so great that it brings people from two different cultures and worlds together under one common passion...

Dude Italy deserved to win, they had hella chances and got unlucky. Romania could've won that match easily too tho. Can't believe Buffon stopped that one. Good ass game. I think if Italy can get thru they are gonna play better bc they are slow starters

Yeah they are slow starters you're right, I'm just not impressed with them. I mean, c'mon, it's fucking Italy! They didn't play atrociously, but still, you expect more from a powerhouse like that, especially defending World Cup champs...

I agree too.... once a drunken English dude told me "Holland is the best team never to win the worldcup" pretty funny... think he is right too... but currently 3 - 1 against the French with 10 minutes on the clock after beating Italy 3 - 0 we are finnaly getting somewhere man!!!!

great game, but:

1. Usually teams that do well in the group stage do not do well in the direct eliminations

2. Very often Holland is one of these teams

With that said, I hope this year will not be one of those cases because they are playing truly beautiful footbal, definitely the best so far

italy and france dont deserve to exit the group faze.

how you are goin to chip over Van Der Sar, that was wrong decision from Henry. Gongratulations for Netherlands, you played once again a very nice game & deserved to win. Rafael Van der Vaat, and Wesley Sneijder totally controlled the midfield. And that small trick that Ruud Van Nistelroy unleashed Arjen Robben to left wing and pass forwards to goal and Van Persie finishing was superr!!

Lobont made 3-4 outstanding saves, that kept Romania at game.. Mutu executed well that Zambrotta´s mistake. Mutu would been hero, if he would been scored 2nd goal from penalty, but that wasn´t best effort.

it was a good decision but he had too much speed and couldn't position his body well for the chip, so it came out too strong

the problem of this french team is that they have too many old players in the back (which was fatal against the young and quick Dutch players) and that they don't have the creativity in midfiled that they had with Zidane

Ribbery is good but nowhere close ot what Zidane provided
