lol get off 40 dick...

i dont see whats wrong with turning sick wid it into a powerhouse label you fuckin nerds

they're not even on a major label right now, aint too many people been in the game for 20 years on a MAJOR are independent right now lmao so quit thinkin music and think business smart guy

E40 is a brand, sick wid it is not (IMO) we only know of it cuz he been reppin it for 20 years but he's not expanding it...wheres turf talk? wheres that bay area 51 dude? wheres droop e? wheres b legit?

i guess im dumb for wanting some structure out here in the bay lol

nice try tho nerds, i know what i meant when i said it and i wont change it just because yall clueless
With the exception of some jabs at some Siccness members, I don't see the negativity in this dude's statement & what he's saying.

I'm a bigger B-Legit fan than I would be a 40 fan (just my 2 no hate), but when 40 came with, "Ghetto Report Card" it was the highlight of the Bay. The world embraced it, MTV etc. I seriously thought, "I can't wait for B-Legit to come next. This is big." and nothing ever came.

The Mossie, The Click etc. none of them have gotten the exposure they deserve when they have had the outlet / chance to capitalize.

It just appears like they all get swept under the rug at times. Rappers like 50 Cent, Jay-Z etc love them or hate them, they have made the moves in the music business to own, dominate & secure their talent within the business.
Mind you their music may not be as good as it used to be and they may not sell units like they did, but financially they are not hurting. The term "Fell off" is actually an understatement due to the fact that they release albums because they have a love for it, not because they have to for financial reasons. The biggest misunderstanding is, most fans have no knowledge of how a lot of things work within the music realm. Numerous albums don't equal money. The real money is made behind the scenes and often go nameless, but in today's world... everybody want's the fame as well. They are not content with just making big money. One of the biggest entrepreneurs in the music business is Russell Simmons. He is responsible for many classic things within the world of Hip Hop yet, never even tried to rap.

I know 40 is far from broke and that's all good, but it just seems like he's more focused on blowing up bigger as a "rapper." He is the most known from the Bay, but for some reason or another the music world has not fully embraced him like they should. Yes, he's out there doing it big, but it's kinda the world see's him like, "Okay, that's nice. I see you, yeah you have some good albums, Yes, a Bay area legend... but anyways." It's like WTF? 40 has respect amongst the big name major rappers, but to the world / fans, he falls into the shadows of them big named major rappers.

Best example, 2Pac: All Eyez On Me had Bay area rappers and the album has gone on to sell diamond and considered a classic in the world of Hip Hop, but what do people outside the Bay recognize as features on that album? Snoop Dog, The Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg... and again, the Bay area features fall within the shadows.

On a personal note, I respect 40 for his ambition and definite a Bay Area legend, but I honestly don't feel he get's the attention he deserves.

On the whole Sick Wit It artist, perhaps 40 is the most ambitious and the rest of the artist aren't motivated to knock out another album. That, we can't hold against 40. Only he would know.

To be fair, it looks like 40 & his camp are trying their hand at rebranding with Droop-E and his label that Revenue Retrieving came out out on. Really he has it hard enough keeping himself relevant in todays mainstream, he can't very well put anyone else on if he is still trying to keep his name in peoples mouth.

The only advice I would give as an observer is, to take more advantage of his connections + his own profile. He's on tour with Tech9 right now, he should make some collab tracks, Tech has a huge fanbase. I saw Aesop Rock tweeted that he was feeling the last double album, approach him for a verse, he has another huge underground fanbase.

E-40's fan base will NOT allow him to be mainstream. He tried that when he was on Warner Bros Remember? And y'all said he's going pop and he's puttin out bullshit etc. You can't have it both ways. Now he releases 2 Solid street records and now he's too old to be talkin what he's talkin? If want E-40 to be big as Jay-Z in terms of money and appeal then his fans should have supported him more on his major label albums. Cause even Jay-Z has watered down his "gutterness" to get serious corporate money. He (Jay) stopped putting out street shit 10 years ago. 40 tried it, and y'all talked about him somethin bad. I know we want our artist to be big as possible. But when they do, somebody gon' "jack the swag" and we start gettin mad about that. Whatever 40 tries to do, somebody from his own soil will hate him more than anyone else in the country. I've done shows with him so I know. And your favorite rapper from ya block ain't got the knowledge, focus, understanding and patience of this game. (notice I did not say talent) The Bay without water is just a desert..

Everybody in here is dick ridin' harder than a female porn star. WTF does everybody mean underground / artist don't have the knowledge? You all make it sound like everybody that's not rich and trying to make it is a complete idiot.

Listen, your favorite rapper is a human being just like everybody else. That doesn't mean the next broke rapper won't be the next rich rapper that everybody is on.

Simply because a certain person is broke, doesn't make him / her with less knowledge. Perhaps he wasn't able to get it to the right hands, or financially can't put it out to the masses to cause a real following.

Every underground rapper can put their music on iTunes etc and too many think that's it. They fail to realize that you still need to push.

back in the day i purchased in a major way and charlie hustle. in a major way imo is e40's best album of all time. charlie hustle was alright but that was the last 1 i bought because i wasnt really feeling it. didnt hear much about e40 till the whole tell me when to go hyphy movement had everybody and their momma going dumb and ghostriding the bandwagon. i wasnt feeling that album i didnt buy or even listen to his latest and probably wont waste my time checking out his upcoming albums. the sad thing is that i feel the same about dubee and celly cell. i was a big fan of e40, celly cell and dubee back in the days but i listen to the new stuff and im just dissapointed. as far as e40 putting out other artist...... why and who? he probably had to do a lot of footwork to get where he's at and a lot of artists are lazy nowadays so why should e40 help anyone. he dont need to. whoever you think he should put on needs to be out there hustlin and making their own name for themself. lol at e40 holding someones hand to "put them on" yeah right. if thats the case tell e40 to put me on. just because.lol

This is real shit. What you are talking about is the difference between Bay Area rap fans and fans everywhere else. People out here is hypocritical and contradictory when it comes to OUR artists. That is why the Bay will always be in the same place it's always been as far as recognition.
