A lot of people critisize Joe Jackson on how he disciplined the Jackson kids but white America dpnt understand that he didn't do nothing wrong. That's just how most black fathers whup ass. That's how my pops whupped ass when I was coming up.

I got a brother who has a gang of kids, gangbanged & two felony strikes but the tough love was there & my parents kicked his ass & showed him love in other ways but @ the end of the day he made his own dicisions. ^good post, different shit works for different kids.

My son is 2 and a half and doesn't completely get the word "no" sometimes. I give him a few chances to stop doing what he's doing and then I'll move him from where he's at. Most times, that's enough. If dude acts stubborn and goes back to doing that shit, then he gets one swat and removed.

That's my formula until he can be reasoned with. I don't see my self swatting him when he's older.

I dont have kids but when my nephews get out of line, I sit them down and let them know how it was when we was little. Being raised in a Nicoya family, we used to get whupped when we act up.
